Terror War Declared on US

I'm reading now that the terrorists were armed with knives... If this is true (and I don't believe everything I read), then I'm even angrier than before. I don't really believe anybody would sit still while a highjacker waved a knife in their face... sure someone is gonna get bloody, but come on... 66 - 93 passengers against how many highjackers...

I hate to second guess a situation when I wasn't there... sofa quarterbacking (and talking bad about the deceased) and all... but dammit... I just can't fathom that NOBODY took a knife away from a highjacker and stuck it where the sun doesn't shine...

Sorry... It has been a long day and it is now an early morning. I am a little more stressed about this than I thought I guess..

Uncle, bring on the wartime UBDOTDs... I'm really itching for a fight right now (200 firefighters dead from the collapse... 800 dead at the Pentagon... I don't even want to guess at the WTC... and 266 airline passengers..).

This is just unbelievable, my oldest friend, whom I have known since I was 5, works in NY in the Finance sector, as yet I have had no word from him, I'm hoping all is well, but its not looking good.

I can't help but think that while this was a specific attack on America, it was also an attack on all countries that love freedom in any form. If there was any time the free world needs to band together an start cracking heads its now.

Everyone I have talked to here in Australia is shocked at this attack, my best wishes to all my mates there in the US.

It's am, my thoughts are maybe the same maybe diff.! My Dad was at PEARL HARBOR, now I can feel what my relatives felt! I don't want to SEE the terr. captured & brought to trial! I want them DEAD,KILL THEM & POST THEIR DEAD PICTURE!If I had my way their friends would die ALL would DIE! It ain't over folks! They are planning to hit us again & again! Those over there dancing in the streets! Hope OUR GOVT. remembers who they are!! I may sound like I went off halfcocked.I DON'T MEAN TO SOUND THAT WAY, WHAT I WANT IS FOR US TO SETTLE DOWN,FOCUS, PLAN FULLY IN A cold,hard calculating manner,"no mercy, no kindness,no negotiations,NO WARNING! Let them celebrate,cheer,brag! THEN! NOW LET "THEM" FEAR!QUESTION?? WHO IS THEM? Thats why we take our time,get them ALL & THEIR FRIENDS!!

It sounds like most of the civilize world shares your thoughts, your fears, and your determination to ensure that these things never occur again - no matter how many fanatic have to be evaporated.

They took their shot. Now it's our turn. Lets' us unite and make it our best(and most horrible) shot.
 
I agree Jim, as of now its open season on terrorists & the scum that give them refuge: no bag limit.
 
I've read posts of prayer, reason, calm and determination. I've drifted away from my early Christian upbringing, and haven't really settled in that area. Point? At this moment, after a night to cool down, the only god that would have me in me present frame of mind is Odin. I will wait through the investigations, talks and patrioic oratory, and the posturing of the politicians. When the decision is finaly made, nothing but total eradication will calm me.

NO QUARTER!!!!!!
 
Here is a picture I took yesterday.

I was on my way with two co-workers to a hospital in Paterson, NJ. Our meeting was cut short, because the hospital folks were going into alert mode.

The picture is from at least three miles away. You can see that millions of people, all the people in that area, could see the disaster, not just look at it on TV.

Women were crying. They were crying even back in our office in Pennsylvania. The men did not cry--they were grim-faced and resolute.

The traffic in the area I passed through, on the periphery of the tragedy, showed patience, facilitating the movement of the emergency vehicles (an unbelievable number of them).

The truly heroic police officers and firefighters who rushed to the scene showed a courage that cannot be fathomed.

At the hospital, I saw an Arab woman in her robes. She looked very shy and very afraid. We should not hate or persecute people because of their race or religion because of this.

I hope our liberty and our spirit are not compromised by these events. That is the goal of the terrorists.

The TV does not do us any good by portraying us as fearful, shocked , and in panic. They must think we are hiding under our beds. That's not what I saw yesterday.

Now it's time for us to go take care of business. It is time for those who are behind all this to be afraid. Very afraid.
 
Yesterday I picked up Reyna at her office and we sat waiting and watching. The phone rang many times, and unfortunatly, often, it was the OOD calling as the ThreatCon climbed to Delta.

With my job I've traveled through much of the undeveloped world and never take for granted what an easy target we have become here in America. In the back of my mind I've always known this could happen, but never really believed it until now.

I pray for those who were lost, and pray harder for those left behind, because we live on to grieve. I carry the image in my heart of a young PO burned aboard a scuttled ship and know that from pain we must find resolve to put an end to terrorism.

But America must remember that we area nation built on diversity. The terrorists have won a small victory here in the New Orleans area when the schools had to be shut down because of racial violence. This is what they want, they want us to fight and kill ourselves, to have armed soldiers on the streets, a loaded .45 on the belt. They want us to draw borders and DMZs like Palestine and Korea. They want to divide us into camps with gun barrels glistening, cold messengers of death. They want America to become a sh&* hole like where they live.

I've learned two things in my time. First, Every person carves their own legend. And second, How frail human life really is.

May whatever God you follow smile upon you and grant wisdom for these dark times.

I'll be going to work in a few hours, but please, don't let America look like the West Bank.

I do agree with you to a certian extent. I believe the borders should be shut down, but not for the same reason. I think the U.S. has had a open door policy for so long that the U.S. is having trouble taking care of the people already here. I believe the familys already here should be able to stay but that the Gov. should be selective about new entries into our country. You said "it would keep the crazys out!" (I am not saying this sarcastic.) Have you looked at the Americans lately and heard all that happens in the schools & on the news? We already have lot's of CRAZYS and most of them born U.S. citizens. If it were not for immigrants I would not be here and neither would most of you. I am English, Irish, German and a little French. If we had no immigrants we would not have Himalayan Imports and Yangdu is one of the nicest people I have ever met.
Uncle, I'm glad to hear Chokpa is ok. Were any of her friends injured?

From what I heared on the news, they were armed with Knives and mace and possibly other things.

I'm still trying to get this digested and having a hard time of it. But thanks to all, especially those calling international, for calls and support. Also thanks to all for emails of the same vein.

It looks like I am not alone in my desire for vengeance. I am not proud of this feeling but it's the one that keeps coming to the top. My sincere desire is that our government does what the majority of the people want.

I think it was in one of the phone calls from one of the planes where it was said that the hijackers claimed to have a bomb and that they would blow up the plane if the passengers caused any problems and that's why the passengers didn't take any action, if they had of had just an inkling of the truth then the passengers may have taken some action.
It seems that the knives used were either box cutters or a make shift knives made from articles in the terrorists shaving kits with a razor blade being taped or embedded into a toothbrush or the like, that was mentioned once that I heard and I just now heard it
again.
The FBI has taken the tape of the 911 call from one of the planes so we might hear more of the details later about what sort of knives they had as well as the passengers being told the terrorists had bombs.

Jim is exactly right in what needs to be done and it needs to be done as quickly and as thoroughly as humanly possible.
And it needs to be done in such a way so as the bastards will never use terrorism against any country again.

On another note I was watching early this morning and the news showed the 2 towers in KL in Maylasia, where Mohd lives, that are the tallest in the world and that they had been evacuated as it was feared that they would be attacked as well.
Many or most countries were stepping up their security and watchfullness.
I agree that this isn't just an attack on the USA, but an attack on the whole free world.
But we will see who and which countries bands together when the perpetrators of this ungodly attack are found out, hunted down and killed.
It seems that many countries were with us last night, let's see which countries are with us when what's needing to be done is done in the way it needs to be done and let's pray that our nation has the guts and backbone to totally annihilate the ones who did this and the ones who have harbored them.
 
Several people in both Boston and Florida have apparantly just been arrested. They are suspected to have been tied to the attack, and also to Bin Laden. Let's all wait and see what we find out, but law enforcement may be able to tell us exactly who is responsible now.

I think this will totally change the way the civilized world feels about terrorism. Day before yesterday, terrorism meant hi-jackings, car bombs or at worst an airline bombing. Now terrorism means the pictures we all saw of the WTC hit with exploding airliners and collapsing. It means thousands or even tens of thousands dead. I think this attack has frightened the rest of the world into at least not standing in our way. The British, French, Canadians, Russians, Italians, India and even Pakistan are reportedly supporting us and will likely continue to do so if we use drastic force. Afew days ago terrorism was a problem, now those people have become too dangerous to be allowed to live.
 
Barb and me were talking last night and I told her that this was going to mean that there would no longer be any kinds of knives allowed on commercial flights.
Probably not even nail clippers.:(
Up until now you could legally carry a folder with up to a 4" blade.
Just heard on CNN that any kind of knife would no longer be allowed
on any airliner.
That means that one won't even be allowed a little bitty SAK!!!!!!!

I've held off joining up with AKTI but now I'm gonna join!!!!
And I urge anyone else that's been holding off to join to!!!!
I fear this is just the beginning of knives being subject to the same laws as guns currently are and we're gonna need all the help we can get.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
