Texas Camp Knife!

The first one pictured in the real world!
Thanks, Barry!
How did they do on the labels??

The labels look great along with the button. Amazing package overall, Charlie, and a job well done! The blades are impressive (especially the master clip) as is the build overall; quite complex when you look closely. The bone is fantastic in all the colors! Kudos to Bill and the crew at GEC!!!

I put one on a scale and it weighs in at 6.4 ounces, while my Buck 110 weighs 7.3 ounces. Looks like the TCK is a relative lightweight! Plus you get all those extra blades! :)

Nice! I have a burnt orange on the way so it was cool to see some photos! :)

WOW! This is an impressive knife in hand. Really beautifully made and with Charlie's special touch! Sweeeet! This is the Burnt Orange example:

Very nicely done Charlie!!!! :D:D:D

For comparison, a vintage Case:

I'm sure someone has already mentioned it somewhere, but this looks to be GEC's largest knife to date. Lengthwise at least. It's over 1/4" longer than the 46 and the 65! When mine arrive, I'll do some side by side shots with a 110. That burnt orange is gorgeous!

I have been so busy, and havent had the chance to really follow this Thread - ashamed to say :o

This, and with saving hard for a Holiday, I will just soak the following pics up.

Charlie-they have turned out superb - well done - theres ALWAYS room for the BIG knife, To the tea involved with making this beaut happen, thank you and well done!:thumbup:

Thanks for the pictures.. very similar in size to the Buck 110. I'm surprised it weighs less... Orange jig is my favorite so far. I haven't seen very many yellow pictures. On GEC's website the yellow and orange looked a lot alike.

Congratulations... they are a bit hard to come by. Post some pictures when you get it!

Big beast, but it looks great. As much as I've been harping about GEC making a Scout knife, I'm going to have to pass. Transmission on my wife's old car called it quits a couple months back. Been using her father's old truck while we saved up some money to get a new/used car. Another situation of needs before wants. Look forward to seeing some pics of the Texas Camp Knife, hopefully being carried on camping/hiking trips.

That thing looks great! Just paid for mine today, cannot wait! The question now is, who's going to make a sheath with GEC logo?!

Wow! These really are looking outstanding. Very nice work by Charlie and the good folks at GEC. Thank you for putting up those pictures Barry, those shots of the burnt orange show just how nice that contrast is. Excited to see more pics of theses as they arrive.

Compared to a Buck 110

Wow, now that is impressive!! Now I can really understand the price point on that bad boy! Thanks for posting this picture!

I think a lot of people were imagining it to be quite a bit smaller. One fella on Instagram even asked if it was like the 15! Even after reading it's measurements, it's still hard to tell just how big or small a knife is sometimes. From where I've been looking, it's not flying off the shelves quite as quick as the barlows, but I'm sure they won't last too long.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Northfileds along with the Whittler and the Cattle Knife.

Good looking knife. Still too big for me, but good looking nonetheless. Hoping GEC will make a more modest sized scout knife one of these days.

Barry, does this bad boy have half stops on it?
How is the pull on the main blade? Does the bail swing freely, or is it a bit restricted?
Thanks

Wow, I didn't realize it was so long. Cool!

Thank you.Il:Dl definitely post a few pictures. Im really excited because this is going to be my first Slip Joint after looking at 100s of pictures on dozens of sites. I think its a great knife to get me started lol.

Hi Caleb! The 98 does have half-stops on all blades. The pull on the main is about a 6-7. The bails are a little snug, probably would loosen with use. Overall build and what Mike likes to call 'company effort' are both a 10 as far as I am concerned. Really a big, beautiful folder!

Barry, from your pics it sure looks like a 10, can't wait to get mine.

Barry, thanks for the info!
I may, or may not have one on my hip this trout season.

I'm happy to hear it's got the half stop!
I can definitely foresee this being a perfect knife for those of us looking to concor the outdoors!
