From a previous sale I designed a more full version of a broomstick handle. its sweeping arch on the topside of the handle really supports your palm as you push down hard into your work. Yet the shape remains neutral for all types of holds. I call This handle design "Long Paw".

I found it extremely comfortable.
I have large, wide palms. I don't like most knife handles, I find them too small. This is close to perfect...... I decided to add that shape to a preexisting blank of hardened Cruwear that I had lying around....

I'm still rough grinding the profile, but it's sleeker and a bit pointier than my previous version. It's going to be a real cutter!

* It's the knife that's covered in blue marking dye. Just above the Kephart styled knife.

I had a post in the main general area....
I had a poll asking If I should do a pass a round, or a giveaway this Summer? The mods must of not liked where I posted it, and buried it in the pass around section killing it's visibility.
..... Making my decision for me. Lol. ;P

Here was the discussion...https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/thanks-for-this-place-poll-pass-or-give.1935722/

Here is the current picture from yesterday.
Our power was out for a couple hours today, Now I can get back to work on it.

Does anyone else think a couple of Applegate inspired daggers might be Sexy???

These are from a Beefy thick PHS blade.
The Biggest one I've ever seen. Thick too.
Wow!

High quality American HSS

Snuck in a pretty handy knife recently....
Cruwear, and black vintage Micarta.
All that's left is to make a sheath, and ship it out.

*If you think you might be interested in my work, Please check out the Bladeforums link in my signature, to sign up for the Pass A Round.
I plan on giving away this knife, Free.. afterwards.

Starting Another.....

Utility Fighter
.100" Thick HSS over 1.5" Tall
64-66 HRC HARD

This is from an extremely Thick Starret (American made) power hacksaw blade. The heat treatment on these is Amazing. It makes for a very hard edge that cuts a long time.

I'm thinking natural micarta, but idk....?
I'm open for other suggestions as this knife isn't claimed yet.

Getting it rough ground, daydreaming about scales..... What would look good?
Ebony with red bone inlays 😁 (that's been floating around in my head for a couple months)

Walnut. None of that flat sawn stuff, some good 1/4 sawn pieces with sweet grain. Lol! Im actually just salty because I bought some 1/4" thick boards to use and they're the most boring boards ever cut. It is hard to beat nice Walnut and brass hardware, though.

If you want to try black locust... Let me know! I'm really loving this stuff. There are some pictures of it in the BPS thread. Very hard. Polishes nicely.

I really like how You think.... I pretty much love everything you said....

My current EDC D2 ingot steel slicer is ebony on black on black.
I haven't posted it in This post yet, maybe I'll post a glue-up this weekend?

This knife above is Thick HSS Hard 64-66 HRC. It's going to be a real Slasher!!!
The wood I started to flatten is Bocote.
I have some walnut, but I still have an unfinished knife sitting with it. It's a earlier design I was working on. A little rough and crude.....my Farmer's Knife.

I own about 2 acres of land, half of which is entirely woods. An absolute buttload of it is black locust. I've considered using it for various wood projects for the properties you mention! My neighbor told me he once used some black locust from our area for a project and it was so hard they couldn't get a screw in it. They had no choice but to drill out a pilot holes for every single screw!! Apparently black locust is also some of the most rot resistant wood there is. I didn't know it polished nicely. Thanks for the info!
