The 2010 Forum Knife Continues!

I would like to postpone the vote for GEC's, in anticipation of GEC coming out with another pattern!
I will open a new thread for Canal Street considerations, and we'll come back to this in a few days!!
Please fight the urge to post here, until we get some news!!:rolleyes:

The new thread will be called; "A Canal Street for 2010 BFC knife??"
 
Is this the new pattern you talked about?

After seeing Charlie's Executive Whittler, I would like to include this on the list.

It is the first GEC that interests me as a unique pattern.
In Blackwood with a plain shield as in Charlie's example
 
No, there's something else in the pipeline, Neeman!
But I'd like to include it in the vote also.
 
An old style Remington type Lockback?? THIS I gotta see!

I don't think we can make an informed choice in this thread until we see the Canal street prototype!
We also are waiting for the imminent release of one or two new model GECs.
I apologize for the delay, and for not writing this sooner, but I am certain we will all want to see what's about to emerge, before we commit ourselves.
One thing I am sure of; we will choose a great knife this year!
The toughest part, yet to come, is deciding which great knife we will soon own! Or maybe the "waiting for the knife" will be the toughest part!!:D

It's all good.:) This can sometimes be a painful process. The rewards are worth it, though.
 
I kind of like that font Charlie, I can read it from across the room while I'm eating my breakfast:D:D:D
 
So I spoke to Mr. President today.
The president of GEC that is! He said a run of their rumored lockback should be out before the end of the month! No longer a rumor, it is their #72 pattern, based on the #73 Remington style Trapper. Bill has designed a new clip blade, with more belly, and the lock will be recessed in the back, just like an old Remington. My #73 GEC measures 3 3/4", so it will be just about the same.
I'm looking forward to it!
Does anyone have a Remington of that pattern to show us, to get an idea of what that knife will look like?
