The 2010 Forum Knife Continues!

Not too many choices at GEC!!
I was told today they have an approximately 4" Toothpick. Anyone handled one? Anyone have a picture??

I have heard rumors of a couple of NEW GEC offerings, coming fairly soon! Does anyone know about them?? They are very close-mouthed!!

Charlie, they're coming out with a lockback, I believe based on the trapper frame (or similar), barehead with a lanyard hole. Not sure of any other offerings.

Here's the toothpick in snakewood, with sabre grind blade and a very nice plain shield.

I've heard about the Lockback too, it's based on a Winchester model, I like the sound of it.

Alright, the GEC patterns discussed so far are:

No.73 single or two blades.
Equal End
Big Jack
Harness Jack
Congress
Large Toothpick
Gent's Whittler

Anything left out? Their Cuban Stockman hasn't been mentioned but the Forum had a Stockman 2 years ago, ditto the GEC version of a Barlow or Sleeveboard-small knives anyway.

It's pretty much the only toothpick I like (and I LOVE it). Much beefier and stouter than the others out there. I would love one as a forum knife...very classy.

I have one in River Blue Bone. I'm not normally a toothpick fan because they tend to be on the small side. This one is a great size. It fits well in the pocket and has a big enough blade and handle that I've never felt like I was trying to use a baby knife to do a man's job. It would be a great option to add to the list.

I'd still vote for the Big Jack 'cuz I already have a toothpick and I've been drooling over the Big Jack for a while, but I'd be happy to buy a GEC toothpick if it wound up being our choice.

The nice thing about it is that it would satisfy the single blade guys, it might be big enough for folks that want a longer knife, and with the upcurved end on the handle it carries well enough in the pocket so it would be a good choice for folks who want to EDC it but don't want to use a belt sheath.

Toothpick would be nice too... it should be reasonable big, like 4". Equal End, Toothpick, Single blade Trapper... all are good. I am in anything you guys can decide. 3½"-4" closed would be pretty good size. I decided to get BF 2010 knife and I will get one :D

That might be something to consider. The only toothpick patterns I have used are nothing more than light duty apple peelers. I was always afraid I would break the blades, and with the skinny bolsters, they always seem to have blades that work loose.

They seem to make great fishing knives, though.
