The 2010 Forum Knife Continues!

Here is one with slanted and crimped bolsters.

Nice! If we choose this knife, it would be a tough choice as to bolsters!:D

I think dual primary clip & spear blades will put to bed a huge argument and make 90% of the people happy on blade selection. The slanted bolsters don't float my boat (not a big fan of pinched either) and this could be a polarizing argument (one of many)- I think no one will thumb their nose at normal threaded bolsters.

thanks rusty for the photo, i manipulated that EE
voila in jigged bone and ebony ()
as has been stated might be a great pattern as it's got both blades, long pulls and swedges:thumbup:
are stamps an option with all manufacturers or just queen?
cheers

p.s. if the handiwork is hindering things in any way please let me know, as it's not my intention:)

I'm still not a big fan of the equal end just because of it's heft, but that Jack is a heck of a fine looking knife. I like the look in ebony better, but the bone looks pretty sweet as well. I'm also not a fan of the slanted or pinched bolsters. Particularly the crimps, never have gotten the appeal of that.

Great blade profiles though and look great on that handle.

Either of these is more that acceptable to me. Spectacular blade selection. That particular bone isn't my favorite due to the shallowness of the stain but still acceptable. I like the bolsters, a rattail wouldn't bother me either.

I like the blade combination, also the bone on that one is not my favorite, but it is miles ahead of the wood. Just can't get used to wood on a folder, just does not seem right.

Wow..I am cool with either one of those, although for a dark wood many have said blackwood is less volitle than ebony, either way they both look great.

If you like wood, snakewood might be even more volitile than ebony, but it sure is pretty.

Have you considered long matchstriker pulls? I've always felt they really add a nice touch to any knife.

The GEC Jack looks a very decent pattern. Nevertheless, it might look even better with a smaller blade as the secondary. Modified Pen or Sheepfoot anybody?

Wow, this sure has taken a turn. When I last checked we were heavy into a teardrop jack.

The managers of this year's knife have decided to steer the discussion on a by-brand basis. First they asked everyone's thoughts on Queen patterns, now they've moved on to GEC (who doesn't have a teardrop) and then they'll move on to Canal Street (I believe). I kinda like it - each company has their own strengths and weaknesses, pattern-wise.

I believe Wintermute characterized it correctly. Charlie's post #1 of this tread was ment to elicit comments regarding GEC patterns.

Very good! Thanks for the info.
