True, but we're talking about a special order BF knife. I'm sure it will sell out instantly but, at least with the Bunny Knife, there was active participation in the design process.Doubtful. The demand, as far as they're concerned, is total. They sell every single knife they make, most within 30 seconds of being posted across their dealer network.
I wish GEC would make more of their knives, hire some more people, mass produce certain parts like blades that can be used in a variety of models. I can't see GEC making money off of the resale market so it would make sense to sell more (or raise the price or both).
I wonder if investing in certain types of tools in addition to what they are using would help. I've written software control systems for some manufacturing tools (different field than knives) and I'm sure that some stuff could be automated, reducing the number of steps required by the craftsmen. Then again, that could backfire in that it burns them out even faster having less variety of activities. I dunno. I just want more GEC knives to be more accessable. They are such awesome designs and quality.
