The 2024 F**** K****?

Ya can't really use serial numbers for accurate tracking. I've bought every BF knife since 2010 and have gifted them all except 2020, 2022, 2023.

Here's one for ya. I bought this 2021 Blade Forum knife and made a general announcement that I was going to gift it. A member sent me a PM asking for it for a friend so I sent the knife to him. Lo and behold the guy he gave the knife to made a post later on and bad mouthed Blade Forums.

Oh I’d have gotten in trouble for calling them out right then and there.

If it's a pattern I like and I can afford it I'll want to buy it. Don't see the point in buying every forum knife if you don't like the pattern, stand aside and let others try it. If in the future I decide I want to sell or trade a Forum Knife that's my business not the concern of others who believe they need to police such things.

I've only bought forum knives for 2022 and 2023, but every one that I've parted with has been publicly given away; so people will know who I gave that number to in the GAW, and I can't be blamed for it being flipped later 😆

I think that I gave away the 2022 #172 that I bought from AdamFuzzyballs AdamFuzzyballs in a forum GAW, and that same year I bought #42 from another user to send to Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley . I think I also gave away 422 and 624E from 2023 on the forum?

I've forgotten a lot by now... Somehow I still ended up buying Gary's 42 for myself to add to my 69, and in 2023 got #269 from Spark, and #555 at a mark up from a Canadian seller on AAPK. #269 may someday end up being a GAW knife.

I would hate to miss a year now that I've started to collect BF knives, so I hope we have one this year, with or without serial numbers.

EngrSorenson EngrSorenson I was not referencing anyone’s post.

I was just stating that we don’t need to try to control the secondary market for the future Blade Forum knives. They are currently selling for under what we paid for them. The 2023 Blade Forum knives are not hot on the secondary. Just because someone lists a knife for $324 on eBay doesn’t mean that it will sell. The ones I have seen sell on the BF exchange and on Facebook groups were all right at $200 range. Currently, people listing these knives are not even getting that. Again these knives are not highly in demand anymore. This was a very large run of 600. So all we have to do to combat flippers is to order a very large future run of BF knives to keep the demand low. Also, it helped that the 2023 BF knife was still available for sale until very recently.

Also, the argument that no one should ever be able to sell the knives is flawed for two reasons. First, it used to be that we bought the knives for under $100 and since people volunteered their time and effort it was disrespectful to sell them to try to make a profit. But now it is not really an issue because Blade Forums definitely did not charge us the bare minimum for that knife. The recent Great Eastern Cutlery Club FB group knife was only $150 and it also was a two blade knife. So BF is making some money on these knives now. Secondly, it is a waste of time trying to track down who traded a knife or sold it. We can not possibly know who sold something at the correct price and then two owners later it got into the hands of a person selling it for profit. Once it leaves the original owners hands, the history is lost.
I assume you can't buy multiples or something?

I could see if someone snapped up 50 of them and scalped them for a profit it would be a sour taste.
