Oh, the thanks are most appreciated, believe me, but we don't do what we do here for the thanks, I have alot of fun here, I've met some great friends here, including Ethan.

I am trying to have as much fun as I can in my life, before I die, so far, I feel like I need to catch up on some of it.

Simple fact of the matter, I like this place, I like BFC and I love the BKT forum. My lack of time spent here, is in lieu of work and some of that fun I been catching up on.

I put alot of energy into helping make this forum what it is, and I am damn proud of what ya'll have accomplished. My first time to the BKT forum, there was 7 people viewing, and we were lucky if a thread got started once every 3 days. Lucky. The fact that we can walk away for a few days, and the forum keeps rockin' along, like a bullet train out of Tokyo, with 20+ threads a day, over 400 posts a day, means it worked, and we are now bringing Becker Knife and Tool to the world, that has been longing for tough ass knives, that won't wreck your wallet or your love life.

Hell yeah. For 30yrs, BKT has been around, and for 30yrs, its been laying in wait, waiting for something.

It was waiting, for ya'll.

I got my first Kabar knife about 30 years ago and I never heard of BKT until finding this forum last summer. You are definitely getting the word out.

I wasn't told to keep the SMKW deal under wraps, it was implied by me being told about it. You see, I don't work for Kabar, and I don't work for Ethan. Well, I do, but not in sense of a job. More like a hobby that helps a friend. Its all I've ever done. No paycheck, no vacation days, just some trips to places like Vegas, and Blade, to attend and help sell my friends knives.

So, here's the rub, knowing about it, and not knowing when its coming, is the crux of the matter. I could have came on here, right after SHOT and said "SMKW will be selling LE BKT Shorts soon!!!" and the first question would have been "WHEN!?!?!?!". I didn't have an answer. So, why get ya'll all riled up, and not have anything else to add? Plus, the folks at Kabar would look at me and say, "Can't trust that guy to keep things on the downlow". So, I'm screwed here and there.

There are other contributing factors, like, oh, I don't know, working out of town, with long 14-16hr days the last few weeks, have kept me from doing any real research into the matter. Throw in the fact that Kabar doesn't communicate much with me anymore, and you got a big ass black spot where my intel is usually stored.

I really do agree with the feelings, as, since most of you know, I love the Beckerheads. I should, I helped create them. I think that a core group following of over 200 people, deserves some special priviledges. I really do. I don't think that its owed, so don't read into that, but hey, you guys work hard, have fun, and do a great job of showing off the BKT knives that you own.

In appreciation, Kabar made a knife, special for you. The BK10LE. "Well, BKT's are supposed to be used". You're damn right. I use the hell outta mine, but a one off, never again to be seen knife, made especially for you, is a pretty nice thank you.

I don't see the words Limited Edition and Becker Knife and Tool going well together. Oh, it works, but under the right circumstances. I see other things that would work better, and we tried. We tried real damn hard.

I pushed for a early buy for the BH's. I was told, "Not gonna happen". I tried again, "Not gonna happen". I tried for a final time, "It ain't gonna happen".

So, its not gonna happen. We tried and are still trying to get some for passarounds, and giveaways, and contests, and to send out the sheath makers, but, so far, we gets a duh nada. So, we are trying our asses off to get you guys some special treatment.

Simple fact of the matter, Kabar doesn't have the knives either. They are stil being made. Kabar has never shy'd away from providing us with some knives for the forums, but the damn things have to be made first. Have to be made. First. Then we can get them.

Here's the other part, its a business, with distributors and dealers standing outside the building, waving cash in hand, who the hell wouldn't take that deal? SMKW's showed up, with "cash in hand" and said, we'll take those off your hands, and Kabar/Ethan said Hell Yeah you will. Who can blame them?

One of the reasons the Early Productions weren't available, is that Kabar now had an order placed, and paid for, and not enough knives to send them. They had to get the shit together and together fast. So, every BKT Short that was in the works, sporting the old paint and grinds, were scooped up, and getting ready to go the Works.

SO, long story short, Kabar loves ya'll, they built a knife just for ya'll, they will get us the stuff we want, as soon as they can. When the info is released to us, and we can send it along, we will, when shit just springs up, then be glad you got a place were the guys that want to share the intel, come, and share.

I feel your pain, I really do, because, I want these blades just as much as everyone. I have one of 4 new knives that I want, and believe me, I earned it, with bloody feet, a hoarse voice, and a case of the sniffles that turned into a full blown cold, I earned it. Now, just 3 more to go.

Thanks man, I understand all of the reasoning (just now read through this thread), and while I was surprised to learn about the LE I can't fault anyone for it.

I also love how we got the Mods, and Ethan himself in here explaining things to us. We know what went on, and the why, and thats good enough for me. Heck, I even understand not telling us about it when you didn't know when this would go down. It becomes 13249023849870 times harder to wait for something when you know the release date, and it doesn't happen. Seems easier to just say "eventually, and we'll let you know as soon as we know exact details" which is essentially what happened.

Thanks for helping this place what it is, because its really helped me out (Had a fire in the backyard the other day, started it with a firesteel on like the 3rd strike, and made my first length of natural cordage sitting around the fire, because I saw how OLJ did it and figured it would be sweet to try. I could do neither of these things a year ago, so thanks man... its working :)).

And we don't get TV here, so someone post up a link to this if it goes up online sometime :D.
 
I dont care who has what. Im tickled to have a first run ''special'' BK16 no matter what! I was just slightly pissed about the high shipping, but the 5$ code cured that, im more then happy to pay a measly 15$ more for something that there will only ever be 250 (or less) of! This halfway makes up for my coming back after a hiatus only to miss the LEBK10s by a few days or week.

as for Beckerhead ''status''...Im just happy to participate, I think the high-ups do plenty for us, hell I love Beckers, I would be a Beckerhead regardless if we never got free stuff or special deals! (not that I would say no to free stuff LOL)

This, exactly. I have a BK16 in my hand as I type this and I would have paid more for it from just about anywhere or anyone. For God's sake people, they are Beckers! These knives will outlast your great-grandchildren. I say this as I'm not putting mine in a drawer. I'm going to mod it and then use the crap out of it and then one day I'll give it to my son so he can use the crap out of it and so on. There are bigger issues in our world to get worked up over. I said it once and I'll say it again....It all boils down to this being just an outpouring of frustration as being excited as hell about a new product(s) coming out and just NOT....BEING....ABLE...TO....WAIT....ANY....MORE...[BOOM!...Head Explodes]. People don't get this worked up about stuff they don't care about. It's like getting the 3rd degree from the missus during that time of the month...no real malice. It'll all fade come April and become an orgasmic Becker silly-fest of new pics, new mods, new sheaths, new Beckerheads, etc.
 
Thanks for everything you do moose Ethan bladite tooj and the rest of the higher ups. We know you do so much for us we just get so excited about these knives it makes waiting very unpleasant! Now that that's out of the way, where are my bk14 scales?!?!? Just kidding seriously you guys are awesome.
