That dude was right on the money. None of my posts are memorable.

Sorry man, but to be sincere I've had little to no contact with you, which I'm not faulting you with at all I am just kind of new here. I've seen you around but the guys I listed by names are just the ones I've had experience with and was able to quickly list off of the top of my head. I'm sure you are just as influential in this forum and I hope to get to know you better in the future.

Haha! I genuinely feel bad about excluding someone. I am so new here compared to a lot of you who have built this community up and I feel like I disrespected one of the elders. Maybe if I lavish him with exquisite jams and exotic margarines of the orient he will forgive me.

I'd say you have his attention.

Carry on.........

Wow, reading through all these 7 pages are hard on an old guy. Think I'll have to lay down....but before I do, a couple of things.

I'm not a Beckerhead (although I've been called something similar before ), but I bought my first Becker in the mid-90's - Cincinnati Machax and it became and remains to this day my favourite knife. I have since bought a Camillus BK-7 (didn't like it, so I sold it), a Kabar BK-2 (not a fan), a Kabar BK-3 - great tool for its purpose (and a bit besides) and last week, a Kabar BK-9 - great knife. I mention all this to show that I'm not without some experience with the brand.

My first love is Wilderness Survival & Primitive Skills, but over the last while, I have been also getting my daily fix of the Becker sub-forum. I've been impressed with the amount of activity and camaraderie that exists here. I'm especially impressed with the volunteer efforts of the mods, Bladite, Guyon and Moose (did I get that right, oldest to youngest? :D) and, of course, the interaction with Tooj and The Man, himself, Ethan. I wonder, from the posts, if some of you Beckerheads don't realize how good you have it.

And since it's relative to this thread, am I going to buy a special edition shorty? No, but I'm probably in for a FFG BK-16 which sounds pretty interesting. I would much prefer a FFG in any case.

Anyway to tie this up, thanks to the above mentioned five (and anybody I might have missed) for the enjoyment I've received, visiting this sub-forum - your efforts are appreciated!

And for those that don't like the stock sheaths, send 'em my way - I only use them for holding my knife. :D

Now to lay down....................

Doc

I love BK&T
I love Ka-Bar
I love Ethan Becker

I don't care how they sell their knives or who distributes them. I have family members that have only purchased Ford trucks for 50+ years. They never received any special attention from the Ford Corporation.

So basically, I want the products, not a pat on the ass for buying one.

Here is a man I would gladly stand with in the fight against inferior tools, and entitlement raging lunatics!

Oh, the thanks are most appreciated, believe me, but we don't do what we do here for the thanks, I have alot of fun here, I've met some great friends here, including Ethan.

I am trying to have as much fun as I can in my life, before I die, so far, I feel like I need to catch up on some of it.

Simple fact of the matter, I like this place, I like BFC and I love the BKT forum. My lack of time spent here, is in lieu of work and some of that fun I been catching up on.

I put alot of energy into helping make this forum what it is, and I am damn proud of what ya'll have accomplished. My first time to the BKT forum, there was 7 people viewing, and we were lucky if a thread got started once every 3 days. Lucky. The fact that we can walk away for a few days, and the forum keeps rockin' along, like a bullet train out of Tokyo, with 20+ threads a day, over 400 posts a day, means it worked, and we are now bringing Becker Knife and Tool to the world, that has been longing for tough ass knives, that won't wreck your wallet or your love life.

Hell yeah. For 30yrs, BKT has been around, and for 30yrs, its been laying in wait, waiting for something.

It was waiting, for ya'll.

DUDE !!!!!!

I think I'm about to cry....

very well said..:) Moose I think there's a time and place for everything and it was your time and place, had you not lived close to Ethan to have met up and had lunch that fine day, and had not been a bkt fan and a member here on the forums I highly doubt we'd be having this discussion.. ( keep in mind I watched it all unfold :) )

now onto the darkside of things, personally I could care less about this whole debacle, my feelings have been hurt many times over, both on the interlubes and off... One thing I've learned if anything is time will heal all wounds..

call me what you will, but I've never really been about hype and don't necessarily kiss up to any one brand or anyone and that's most of the reason a have this omish shunning going on with most of the crowd in the community.... I don't pose for mervyns or the likes, I've since been long out of highshool...

Ka-Bar was under no obligation to give anyone on the forum special treatment for being a BeckerHead. We as forum members and you as BeckerHeads are not entitled to anything simply because we give a good review where it's due,

Easy there Rusty ... :D

Nor is anyone "obligated" to purchase their product ... Yet we do.

A quote from the Beckerhead sign up thread:

Here's what you can look forward to getting as a Beckerhead:

-You can use your Beckerhead number in your Location or Signature
-12 contests a year for gear and toys
-4 major contests a year for knives. These will be known as Ethan's Challenges and will be 1 for every season
-Take a tour of the Kabar Manufacturing (pending)
-Information on knife shows, and gatherings exclusive to the Beckerheads
-Beckerhead Gear, starting with Patches with your specific Beckerhead Number on it
-Privileges to participate in pass arounds, new product info, and new design beta testing
-More stuff as we go along, somethings aren't final or even thought of yet

BH is an earned priviledge. There ARE cool/exclusive things that go with it.

And we have all enjoyed it. And look forward to all the cool stuff to come.
I have said in the past, this place could be a B. School case study in marketing it's so good.
Which again (and again, and again) is why this launch was surprising.

And honestly, if you don't wanna pay $15 above the production model price for a very limited, very nice looking very EARLY release of something that has people waiting with their tongues hanging out and drool dripping from their chin, then don't. If you don't like the dealer, then don't. If you don't like the laser etching, then don't. If you don't like the saber grind, then don't. Just wait.[/QUOTE]

I didn't

I will :)

I was in China when my BK10LE shipped to my house. The wait was torture. Now I'm in Florida and my FPRBK16 has shipped to my house. AAAAARRRGGGGGHHHHH.

I come here primarily for the pear preserves. When I hear about a new batch, I'll start freaking out.
