The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

Q for fellow #notnathans who pay closer attention:

Are there going to be more of the EDC1.2 pattern to be offered in the upcoming Fridays’ Sales beyond today’s or did Nathan just bundle everything up in this pre-order to be able to move on with CPK’s other projects? If Nathan has already answered this, I must have missed it!

#stillnotnathan

We will continue to do Friday sales, but of 20 instead of 40.

When approx. do you think the Choppers will be available for sales?

That's going to be next year. I had planned to be in production now. And we have started production, the material is decked. But we're going to go back into the basic five again because we failed to make enough to have shelf stock.

We made close to a thousand of them. I was not expecting demand to remain so strong.

I'm going to start a thousand more and put them on the shelf.

This will postpone chopper production until next year.

Hi Nathan,

The 2024 EDC (v1.2) specs shows .135" thick at ricasso which is the same as the original EDC1 = .135".

The EDC2 spec is .145" thick at ricasso.

Have you gone back to machining slightly thicker scales for the new 2024 EDC series? (Like the ones that came with the original EDC1)

Or are you staying with same thickness for the new (v1.2) scales as you had on the later EDC2/EDC3 versions?

3: Real Name.

5: Shipping address.

6: Any special instructions.

Once we receive this information, if everything is there, Jo will send you a PayPal invoice. If information is missing or you have additional questions, Jo will reply to your email. When your email is read and processed we will send you a reply letting you know we've received your information."

If you have already sent your email and you are waiting for the invoice. She will send you an invoice at some point in the next few weeks as she is processing the orders.

If it has been several weeks it's possible something might be lost in spam and you should try to touch base with her again.

She is kind of slow doing this invoicing because there are a lot, the process is complicated, and she's also assembling and shipping knives. So it can take a little while.

Dinner

It ain't poaching if it was an accident...
Years back I was bowhunting for deer at a ranch in Texas. A truck pulls up with a ranch-hand who jumps out exclaiming he just got a trophy javelina. He drops the tailgate to show it off and the ranch owner asked what he got it with. The hand says “A 350”. Another guy questioned him”a 350?”. The ranch hand starts laughing saying “hell yes- a Chevy 350”. Good bumper/grill guards are awesome. 🤣

Back in college, GF went to visit her friend in a small town.

All the men woke up early, headed out in the cold weather to their stands and hides.

Girls woke up late, had breakfast , headed into the 1 stoplight downtown. On the way there, BAM, hit a deer with the brush guard on the truck. They call the local SD. Deputy comes out, takes the report. Says, “Want me to toss this in the back of the truck?”. They say, “Sure”.

Friend shows her the 3 shops downtown, they head back to the farm. BAM. Hit another deer. Same deputy takes the report. “I’ll toss this one in the back, too”. Gals say, “Thank you”.

They head home, make coffee and hot cocoa. Men start trudging back in.

“There’s hot coffee and hot cocoa. Any luck?”. The men shake their heads. “Didn’t see anything”.

Girls still sipping coffee, “Well then y’all can go field dress the 2 deer in the back of the truck”.
