Bad THE BAD Will Moon

Official email was sent from my buddy to Will Moon requesting a refund, and explaining that i'm now the owner of the knife. As soon as Will issues the refund, I will send the knife back.
We will see if Will Moon's word is worth anything this time around. He was the one coming on here offering the refund, I am in doubt, but we will see.

Best of luck, I'm still waiting for my refund to come through.

Will Moon responded to my friend saying we have to send the knife back first, then he will issue a refund. Let's see how this works out.

It took a while but I got through the material but not elsewhere in JD, IG, etc. Suffice it to say that the young man is in denial which is not a river in Egypt. There can be no denying the FACT that he has screwed people over in more ways than one.

My advise to him is to go through every single complaint diligently and remedy it to the customer's satisfaction even though the customer is NOT always right. In your case, you have a lot of making up to do if you ever want to continue in this business. No more excuses. Life is hard!

There is no collab with Benchmade, dingo was simply stroking his own ego on the BM forum. Will posted pics of his latest rainbow colored bubble gum machine knife In a thread about lackluster designs coming out of Benchmade. Will stated Benchmade should purchase one of his designs and they would sell a ton of knives. Another member said at least Benchmade could fix your fit and finish issues to which Mr. dingo jumped all over him with his sob stories of being ridiculed again with no factual basis. Later the posts by Dingo were deleted, most likely by himself but possibly a mod.

The thread on the JD forum is something like 60 pages and there are many many others on various forums. Couple that with all his banned and shill accounts there is NO reason to keep giving him chances. Just the fact he came back here knowing his rep is spiraling into the toilet and lied about why he is banned shows his true colors. He had to know the mods would post the true reasons as soon as one read it.

There is no shelter to be found here for people like that.

I was about to write "give him a shot...blah blah blah" then I realized that (as others have pointed out) the proof is in the pudding. If he shapes up and stops the nonsense then folks will post it up and people will do business with him again. And, if not, well...then not. Its pretty cut and dry at this point.

He's had plenty of chances to shape up and get things right. It hasn't happened and I don't imagine it ever will. He is what he is - a person I would never trust.

It should be clear at this point, I am all for giving people a second chance, the benefit of the doubt, etc. But this goes beyond that to an absurd level. There comes a time where we have to remove the ability for people to literally "prey" on newbs in so far as our little corner of the knife world is concerned. If people want to throw their money out the window despite the countless tales of non-communication, broken promises, missed delivery, poor quality, etc. that is all on them, we will not be responsible for any of it. People NEED to learn to stop being lazy (because ultimately it is laziness in many cases) and do their due diligence before blindly sending off hundreds of dollars to a person that has known issues. It also prevents duplicate "Well, I got burned again by so-and-so..." threads.

Hi Guys,

Here is an update.

Will Moon refuses to send a refund until he gets the knife first. Obviously I am very hesitant on this. I thought about it a lot this weekend and decided I will send it back to him for a refund. I will post the tracking info of the package shipped and see how long it takes for refund. Will has already admitted to the knife pivot being flawed. Way to not tell people who bought your knife of your bad design.

Personally I would send it fully insured, with signature confirmation and restrict it to him only. Apparently every member of his family and friends are tasked with shipping responsibilities.

I agree fully with RedDevils last post.

To be completely honest, I am a bit shocked. I mean the guy had a good thing going. Selling knives at $800+ a pop has got to be a lucrative endeavor. The key is not crapping the bed so bad that multiple people come out of the woodwork with tales of crap customer service and crap F&F. If I can replicate the same thing with minimal effort for literally one fifth the price (e.g. a Spyderco or damn near any other production maker) then it becomes an exercise in throwing money away. How do you crap the bed this badly?

Think about this: how long did it take Rick Hinderer before his knives sold for $600+ and then think about the quality of a typical XM18 vs an MK7. THEN top that off with the customer service that Rick offers. I've literally gotten next day responses from his team and two week turnarounds on warranty issues @ Hinderer. Also, keep in mind that Rick isn't alone on this one. More or less every respected company will do a comparable job at this while charging much much less per knife.

At best he's a hobbyist who thought because people paid hundreds for what he made that he was suddenly a real knifemaker. He may have "made knives" but that doesn't equal being a real knifemaker or a competent business person or having any idea of how to deal with paying customers.

Send the knife back via registered mail, insure it for actual value and make sure someone signs for it. If something goes wrong contact the post master in your area.

Winner winner chicken dinner!

The people following him on Instagram are really not seeing the big picture...:foot:

Someone just sent me a screenshot of will moons latest announcement on ig. It's disgusting how self absorbed he is. Just read it. It's also sickening some of the posters comments are. Saying how great he is and how much he cares about customers, etc. these people are either deluted or stupid. The guy is an admitted liar and scammer yet they still support him. Where is the refund will, knife has been sent.
