Bad THE BAD Will Moon

These are the emails after I offered him $10,000 and he said he'd think overnight on it (yes, he believed that I would pay him $10,000 for him to make a full moku-ti MK12 ASAP):

Will: I read your comments on Bladeforums. I think its safe to say we won’t be doing business at any point in the future. You should really be ashamed of yourself.

Me: LOL I should be ashamed of myself? You're a raving hypocrite Will. I take comfort in the fact that your business is going down the drain faster than you can lie and steal people's money.

Fuck you, you piece of shit scammer. You're not a knife maker.

If nothing else, at least we now know for sure that the scumbag is reading each and every word written about him in this thread.

Hi Will. Ready to make me my moku-ti MK12 for $10,000 yet? LOL. If someone paid me $10,000 to give me one of your shitty knives for free, I wouldn't take it buddy

Obviously Will hasn't made many (if any) 'friends' in the knife community lately but I'm not sure that baiting him into that is helping anything...

however on a similar note, if you'd like to send me $10k I'd be happy to try and build you an integral Moku-ti framelock I just have to figure out where to get Moku-ti... and how to build a knife :D

Oh I know he needs no help burning bridges, I just thought it was funny

Keep the language clean folks. I don't want to have to lock this down for that.

Not to mention that nothing Strong-Dog did is productive or particularly revealing of Will Moon's character. I'm pretty confident any maker would consider strongly an offer of $10,000 dollars, they're not exactly rolling in money. And plus, he declined it, which if anything is illustrative of some character. All it did was waste his time, and make the people with legitimate complaints look like trolls.

Much more relevant is his ability to photograph knives without showing any of these defects that consistently appear once the knife is received. That is exactly what happened with me in the case of my 801. The pictures on his facebook showed the other completed products to have incredibly consistent anodizing and in general much more attention put into them, whereas the anodizing was very uneven on mine, and he did not polish the standoffs as agreed upon.

I'm sorry, I didn't know everything I did had to be productive to your standards.

He's issued it over the weekend, but I've yet to see it credited. Probably takes a few days for Paypal.

Does it? I'm pretty sure PayPal should be instant...??

EDIT: he had another monthly sale yesterday so he should have money to refund you at least... please keep us updated!

It was a credit card transaction with Paypal. From what I read, it can take up to 30 days for the refund to complete.

Never had any experience with refunds so I'm not really sure.

I got the knife on Saturday.
Wish I could say it was perfect but unfortunately it wasn't.
Scuffs on the blade, backspacer-scale not fitted properly, slanted grind between scales.

I wrote to Will and he somehow suspect something might have happened during shipping.
However, I'm highly doubtful as the shipping box came in fairly good condition, no signs of tampering.

I decided it was best to send it back and cover its return at my own cost (according to his warranty policy).
So here I am, within 48hrs it is on the way back.

Just checking back here....this is not a warranty problem.

This is the piss-poor workmanship we keep discussing.

Warranty problems are unforeseen issues which occur well past delivery. Crappy construction or workmanship is evident immediately upon delivery.

Btw, Will posted at the Benchmade forums today that he's not going to argue with someone who disagrees with him, but he's instead offering to design knives for Benchmade thru a licensing agreement.

I gotta give him props for being so bold. They could fix his design flaws for him and he'd terminate at a year with his QC problems solved.

Then again, most BM knives seem to cut stuff, whereas the Moon designs have evolved sans sharp edges on the blade.

Dealing with a custom maker is not the problem. Dealing with one who has so much negative feedback anywhere you'd look is. Google the guy or gal, ask for a couple forum references. Keep in mind that if the knife fails, you could lose fingers or worse, so doing a little due diligence is simply smart business.

If benchmade offers knives by will moon, I will never buy a benchmade again.

If anyone from benchmade reads this please listening to the following: smart people stay away from people with contagious diseases. Will moon has the equilavant of knife Ebola mixed with aids. If you want knife aids then work with him.
