The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

When someone want to buy Shirogorov knife be more attentive, that clones are really similar but anyway if you compare clone and original, then you'll see the difference and buy from sellers who has at least some positive feedbacks. If you just want to have clone of Shirogorov to cut or for harduse buy on Aliexpress - there are many of them, including Baikal, Ledokol, Sevastopol, Hati Seashell and many other bull shirt copies.
As our collector - he has bought several knives from us - genuine Shirogorov and he bought several clones on other side - just to cut anything or etc., but originals are for flip only and for keeping. Sometimes he trade some genuine knives..
For sure some reach collectors use their Shirogorov Coordinal, Hati Seashell, Jeans, Poluchotky - I've seen some photos of it on applications.

It took a while, but I'm finally proud to own one: Custom Division Seashell Hati 3D

The PVD lockside scale texture is just incredible.

Thanks! Taking it apart there's just so many small details visible like the backspacer being mirror polished even though you'll never be able to see it assembled...just small things like that that make you smile.

@ mikomonday, what K_t said

Great shot of the roller bearings. I assume that sucker is wicked smooth.

Anymore sales talk and the thread will have to be closed.

Disassembled my new F95 last night. It's the "three bear" version with the MRBS, which means 42 tiny bearings. Wasn't too tough to keep track of the bearings due to the thick grease in the pivot. I had a heck of a time cleaning it though. Replaced the grease with 10wt Nano-Oil and now the thing is pretty much a thumb guillotine. Falls shut with no coaxing necessary while still being absolutely rock solid. I absolutely love this knife.

And an extra pic for everyone's viewing pleasure.

neat!

I sharpened my new Neon lite on the WE to my liking and then took it apart for cleaning. Not a fan of whatever white locktite goo they used on the pivot screw but it cleaned off nicely. I also replaced the grease with nano 10wt. I'll probably use nano 85wt next time just to see if I can tell the difference. It flips like a freaking dream after the cleaning.

Jeez, Max, that knife might be even better looking inside than out

 for NanoOil, too. I'm real big on that lube.

the machining on the inside is incredible, more impressive than my custom division nudist slim. Really excited where the production models are going.

So here's another question from your OP which has arisen from the great pictures of disassembled Shiros above from miko and max as well as earlier pics from Mtneer.

What do you use to loosen your PacMan screws?

I'm always taking my knives apart, cleaning, tuning, modding, etc and have long ago gotten over the fear of messing something up or voiding warranties. Tinkering and maintenance constitute those rare no-cost joys of knife addiction. One thing that does make me nervous though is sticking a common screwdriver bit into a Shiro screw and either scratching the crap out of it or slipping and doing some other damage to one of my knives. I've thought about trying to make something out of hard nylon or plastic or even hardwood.

What do y'all use?

Couple of layers of duct tape and a large flathead will do the trick. I have 2 of the pen tools but the cost is too prohibitive to really justify. Plus the only real benefit besides having the correct thickness of the screw driver are the rounded ends. Some people use pennies which are good because they are of a softer material and are pretty much the required thickness too. Lots of stuff out there to try!

Here's a picture of the pen tools:

A penny! :D

There's something ironically humorous about disassembling a $1000+ knife with a penny.

My apologies for the terribly lit, blurry pic. I was so nervous about losing the tiny bearings that I may have been shaking a little bit.

I favor a nickel. They fit the slot tighter and like the penny, the nickesl seems to deform before the screw head.
I'd love to get a pen tool eventually, but at that price that is just one less knife in the collection.

So we've seen Shirogorov: Knives, from big 111's down to diminutive Neon Ultra Lights and many models in between...Shiro ball bearings, Shiro roller bearings, Shiro overall inner-workings, even Shiro hardware custom-fitted pens...but not one of these...yet. :D
