The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

Hey C, nice to see you around here as I've missed your presence. I'm sure Skelator88 Skelator88 can answer for himself, but that appears to be the Shiro Kami with the asymmetrically ground 3.5" blade. The Rockstead has a 4.125" blade with their usual fuller but in its broad flat.
Good to see you too. Fair point with fuller, but now that I look again I see the flat grind complete with secondary bevel and the flipper further ruling out Rockstead. The Kami almost makes me want to get back in the Shiro game. In the past few years I’ve only bought an SAK.

That’s exactly right, no rockstead here :)

Anyone help with current prices for a Neon Zero MEFP?
I see as new prices of $1300. Don't see much info on them being sold used. Condition makes a big difference so hard to say. Most Neon's go for $600-$900 used. I would keep an eye out on the usual web sites to get a ball park.

The scales have more internal machining making them lighter, the pivot is on SRRBS, or Single Row Roller Bearing System, the blade was S90V with polished swedge and Custom Division knives are made, assembled and fine-tuned from scratch by one single person

KPL, Nano-oil or No oil on the MRBS?

I was wondering if anyone here runs there Shiro’s with dry bearings? I mean I’m sure they still put some oil on the pivot and detent but run the bearings dry. My Koenig Arius came that way and got me wondering 🤔

First run Quantum Gen2 needs a cleaning after many months.

pic for attention

I use KPL after a conversation with a source at Shirogorov where they said the factory uses a mix of a Russian lube (called Tsiatim-201 or Ciatim-201) and KPL. I prefer the heavy weight lube in my SRRBS for the protection of the 440c steel rollers and the more hydraulic feel it provides. The knife is still very quick to open but glides shut more than drops shut.
