Do the $600 Quantums have a captured pivot?
I love my three-bear Quantum, but might pick up a “user” if they have captured jobbies. I like to tighten’ ‘em down a bit.
Great tip! Never would have thought of that.Nah the basic series knives don’t have them BUT, the way to work with the “spinning” pivots is to simply squeeze the knife in your hand. By squeezing the blade into the frame like you’re forcing it to stay closed, you are now transferring that pressure onto the pivot barrel and the screw can be loosened or tightened with ease.
(Credit to YouTube for showing me this after scratching and painstakingly trying to remove a spinning F95 pivot lol)

Well, I’m putting you in for Nobel Knife Collector prize in 2024. Now my budget F3’s pivot is finally as tight as I’d like it to be. Such a simple solution!Me either, I figured the blade stop pin would pretty much negate any force being applied but it acts as the leverage point, putting the force onto the pivot barrel and it worked in 3 seconds vs. the 25 minutes of struggling. Reading the suggestions of using rubber, leather, duct tape etc to keep the pivot from spinning sounded great but they didn’t do squat, squeezing the knife worked so fast I can’t believe there’s not more information out there to do it this way.
I wouldn’t let the lack of CPS stop you from buying a knife you want, especially for the few times adjustment and disassembly is needed once the knife is set how you like it. (I’ve certainly had to use loctite on some of my pivots so just make sure to use low strength!)
Oh man, I love the inlayed F95. Beautiful!![]()
I only have a few
Oh man, I love the inlayed F95. Beautiful!
And the action on this one is incredibleOh man, I love the inlayed F95. Beautiful!
Shiro posted this to their IG page today, it looks like an F95NL with the purple shred CF to me…
A new production F95 NL is coming, probably today
Jsega51 , I suppose the teaser photo you kindly forwarded from IG has been doctored somehow before publishing by the maker -- the inlays are copper-like, not purplish. The "2023 ANNUAL BRONZE BEAD" might be a good match for this knife.
It looks very similar to CCKS 2024 version, except for really annoying 'chaotic satin'...
