The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

It feels even better in hand! I bought it second for well under $1,000 because the previous owner had assembled it wrong and sold it as damaged

That's awesome. I can't even remember the last time I saw one for sale but it's definitely on my grail list.

I had a couple spare pics of my work user Turtle after a couple days' carry, so....

Chazzy, I’ve seen plenty of pics of the Turtles and didn’t really care for the look of the milling pattern and didn’t think I’d care for the feel of it either so I’ve stayed away from them. After owning one for 2 weeks now, I think I probably should have gotten one sooner! The smooth areas of the Gen1 appeals to me more than the milled sections that the Gen2 received and the scales feels great in the hand, I like it much more than I thought I would and the bronze Ti was icing on the cake!

More power to you. Awesome carry...I'd wanted the F95T waaaay to long to carry it past the safe or even open the R1 box. Used the sacrifice as an excuse to carry prev gen (gen 3?) F95 3M every day since. Does it ever rock the free world, after sharpening like a butcher knife it's a stadium rocker.

Nice one, Jsega. The Turtle's been one of my favorites from the get-go and I'm glad you're diggin' yours. As to the various Gens, I think the Turtles with the milling in the previously plain recessed flats are definitely past Gen 2. Looking around on line those seem to be Gen 4, which also feature backspacers. I was good with the earlier category names through R series and the Bears designations, but am not up on the various Gens, particularly since they were retroactively assigned to earlier iterations of the various models.

I know that there were Turtles or F95s older than mine on PB washers with more basic steels (Gen 1?); followed my my knife which is M390 and SRBS with no internal milling or underlay washers (Gen 2?); followed by those with MRBS, internal milling, underlays, and some with blade extracts (Gen 3?). I have an F95R with those latter features and Vanax37 blade steel which was also categorized as a Three Bears at the time. My R Series knife is somewhat unusual as it has 3.5mm blade stock but it is not an F95 Slim. Within any particular Gen there have been different variations in blade steels, thicknesses, and handle treatments over the years.

I think your knife and my F95R are likely the same Gen, assuming yours is MRBS with internal milling to go along with your blade extracts, which my F95R knife does not have. I'll tag mikomonday mikomonday here as I'm sure he's all up on the various Gens of F95's that have been assigned both after the fact and to current models.

For anyone, who like the F3 Ignis color scheme ("Phoenix Wing" TechnoCarbo) and M390 — 111 Ignis is available at the moment.

Surprisingly, there're only 10 pcs. in stock 😜 EDIT: it might be some kind of 1st day glitch, there're actually 66 pcs. in stock.

May be the dealer decided to keep the cards closer to the chest this time, after all there're 42 Aerums available (60+ days since the release date). ;)

I hold my funds for Aquatic, hope it'll be the opportunity to finally try Vanax 37.

Folks who own/have owned the Quantum Ursus, how's the pocket clip in terms of going into and out of the pocket?

There's now a QU variation that speaks to me (plain Jane, no inlays, MRBS), but I can only find one mention online of the pocket clip and the video makes it look like a real pain to slide in and out.

I no longer have the Ursus NL I owned but the pocket clip didn’t seem to be a concern at all, I can’t recall ever having an issue with it hanging up.
