The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

Yes. Looking to Recon 1 might provide some information on what these may go for when sold new by a dealer. I suggested eBay Completed sales to get a sense of what they may have actually sold for at that time - new or used. What you can ask for, and possibly receive for part of your collection is always. - as they say - dependent on many variable factors. Again, wish you the best of luck in your future. PS - ChazzyP and CPP really know their stuff on Shiro’s.

Recon1 indeed really doesnt know what will come. The workshop literally sends stuff and they will just list it. Sometimes it can be 50 knives, sometimes just 1-2 NeOns. They themselves don't put in orders to Shirogorov.

The F7 is a full custom model. Each custom is a often a one-off piece in that exact configuration and they are completed only by Sergey Shirogorov from start to finish. Contrast that with Custom Division pieces where a select number of highly trained members in the workshop work on Custom Division pieces and normal production knives made by the normal employees.

F3: Production knife
F5: Custom Division knife
F7: Custom knife

If I had to choose only one knife and get rid of my collection, it would have to be any one of the three...

Another Forum that contains Shirogorov (and other knife brand), info, and photos is the Usual Suspects Network (USN). Good luck in your future sales. I might be purchasing.

Not the easiest site to navigate, in that there are many categories listed. Really gotta look for the Shirogorov section. But it’s there. Along with many other knife categories. Great! Another website to spend hours on...;-)

not a problem at this time... but the financial situation is looking up! (pharmacist position opening up at local hospital!) (fingers crossed!)

I'm still doing some research on the Shirogorov/Sinkevich Cannabis knife own... Probably the best flipping knife I own!

The TNK version is the perfect setup: liner lock flipper, M390 and contoured Micarta scales. I bought mine on the secondary market (not through this site) and one side of the pivot was missing several bearings and it still flipped perfectly. When I first handled mine I thought of it as a folding bushcraft style knife and when I went back and read up on the Cannabis and that's how Sinkevich designed it, and for that reason it initially didn't have a pocket clip

Great to hear of your possible new position. Figured by your title that’s what you do...in Florida. Good luck to you.

Maybe this will help. It's the original listing for the previous exclusive Shiro dealer via the Wayback Machine.

The Cannabis is a very unique knife ... Nearly as big as the 111, and the 3-D linen micarta fills my large hand perfectly!

Got a opportunity to purchase a Pero for the Lottery price from the dealer $1460.00 I only own the Neon for shiro's and love it is this knife close to 3 times better? Would I be able to resell at cost if I don't care for it. Not sure I would use a knife I paid that much for. So I am on the fence which way should I jump? I can afford it but would take some of my fun money away. HELP PLEASE!!!

I was also in the same exact position as you and I could also afford, albeit begrudgingly:

Also received an email last week from Recon-1 informing me that my name had come up as a winner for a Pero. Admittedly I had entered my name just for sh*ts & giggles never really expecting to be called upon and when my name had come up as a winner*, I had suspected that those who primarily wanted to just buy-flip for profit had already done so and that I was not really interested in an almost $1500 knife which I was not particularly fond of its looks. With utmost respect to our peers on here, I don't really find the Shiro-Sand collabs as appealing as the straight out Shiros, but that's just my own subjective opinion based on visuals since I have never touched one of those collabs!

* I feel that my name must've only come up as a winner because probably 50 other folks ahead of me had also passed up on their opportunity. I also sent a polite response to R1 that I was going to pass up, FWIW.

If multiple Pero purchase opportunity declinations have caused it I can see passing the purchase opportunities on, but I’m not so sure about the price getting goosed up another $60--despite the price still being shown as $1,400 on the website. If somebody said that was tacky, I doubt I’d argue with him.

It's 1400 if you choose to pay via PP F&F which is actually an option! PP G&S was about 1460 IIRC and since I live in CA with almost 9% sales tax, the PP G&S + tax would put that knife in the 1600 range for me, hence why it was an easy pass for my wallet's sake.

I understand the (agreed--deadly) ST consideration, but I didn’t know about the G&S vs. F&F price difference. I’ve bought Shiros from RO before--at their posted website price--using PP, and they never mentioned any G&S vs. F&F difference. It was just “the price” and I could opt to pay via CC or PP.

Excerpt from their email:

"...PayPal friends and family – If using this option please send $1400 to deals********@yahoo.com and leave the comments section blank so PayPal doesn’t flag the payment.
PayPal goods and services – If using this option please send $1456 to recon****@yahoo.com, if you prefer to pay through an invoice, please respond with your PayPal email and we can send an invoice for $1456 out to you.
Credit card – You can call our store at toll free 1-888-473-**** and ask for Tamar, and pay by credit card over the phone. The total will be $1456...

I have used asterisks to mask their email addresses but please note that the F&F email is different than their commercial PP email. This in and of itself also put me off as I had not seen this before. maybe because the Pero was on lottery basis and that the retailer was not marking up to absorb fees. When I passed on the opportunity, their reply email stated that they would inform Shirogorov Knives of my decision to pass which indicates to me that the Pero pricing was not structured as a dealer to end user piece. I dunno for sure though as I could be wrong on the latter which is purely an assumption and a guess.

Post script edit to add: PP fees are 2.9% + $.30 for domestic and 4.4% + $.30 for international. CC processing fees vary but perhaps not as high as PP's domestic.

OK--so the PP F&F vs. G&S thing was apparently for the lottery sales. That’s not so bad, but still a little on the iffy side. The G&S vs. F&F thing has been a hot point here. I’ve only used F&F for purchases a couple times and never for anywhere near the >$1K level. But--whatever. The Pero sweepstakes will be coming to end before too long and that’ll be the end of that. It’s all beyond my reach anyhow. I recently stretched far enough to grab a 95T and I’ll be nursing my wounded bank account for a while to come.
