My appreciation / addiction to Shirogorov knives has led me to surprising discoveries in both Cheburkov and CKF knives...

I guess I'm now officially a "Russo-phile" (thank goodness Mueller has finished his 'investigation')

I never thought of a turtle as a particularly handsome creature, but this Russian, tree-roosting sub-species is pretty good-looking....

FWIW,

TRfromMT 's Turtle is Vanax37 which is also a great steel. I have that in my F95R and M390 in my Turtle and two others. On the other hand, I have two Shiros in S30V, aleforme--F3 Python and NeOn UL--and while you may covet M390, you should know that I'm extremely pleased with my S30 blades which take great edges easily and seem to hold them quite well. Shiro does an excellent job with all their steels.

Good points. I have a HatiOn Lite in the Vanax 37. While I do covert the higher end steels for the Turtle, I'm completely satisfied with mine in S30V. It's still a great steel. Plus, I got a "steal" on this version which was my first dip into the Shiro pool. The main thing I like about the newer F95T models is the weight saving on the ones with the internal milling. These things are light! LOL.
I think next up might be a F3. Really want to try out a Shiro with a liner lock.
