First 2 flips

Unfortunately I did get a display model (got the last one in stock so was worried about that, SN on the card, box flap, and "wrap" all confirmed it) but all is well as it is in perfect condition. I will just call to make sure first from now on, I've never liked getting display models of knives or guns because to me they are used as there is no telling how many idiots have handled them while on display.

I got a disassembly pen too

Congrats man. Beautiful piece.

Just purchased the pen myself, should be here Friday. Going to take my guys down and give them a good clean/lubing. Can't imagine this will improve the already perfect action but I'm excited to see if it does!

Just used the pen to take it down and get the bearings lubed up with KPL and the detent with KPL heavy. I never noticed how different the bearings were on each side (even though I'd watched a disassembly video before) previously.

Also, here is what the current liner and lock on recent production looks like. They are skeletonizing/relieving it now for weight loss.

I tightened the pivot down as tight as I could get it without spinning it. At that level the action was pretty rigid. I backed it all the way off until I got blade play and then turned in about 1/4" turn. It is BEAUTIFUL at that level; time will tell if it will stay there without spinning. I'm afraid to even use purple loctite due to the non-captured pivot.

Thank you for the pics/information.

Yeah, thanks for the pic, F falar , as we'd been writing back and forth about my older 111 without skeletonizing and your newer models with. That's a pretty fair amount of material removed from your liner side and accounts for the .3ish oz difference between the knives.

As far as LocTite goes, I've had all my Shiros apart and have not used it on any of them. I'm not a fan of LocTite anyway and avoid it on all but the "driftiest" of my knives (a few, touchy Benchmades mostly). I'd rather slightly re-tighten a pivot from time to time than have to deal with thread locker drytime and breaking the bond when disassembling again. Most all quality knives don't need it, and of my Shiros only my F95R has ever drifted just a tiny amount.

@anvil_den has suggested using nail polish for an ultra-light thread locker, but I've never tried it. Can't really decide what color polish to use anyway.

I don't mind an occasional adjustment either. Luckily the pivot is in a place that is easy to remember now---pointing due "east" if I look at the show side, I'll just keep my pen handy.

Here is the action post-teardown and lube/adjustment:

you misspelled "Addiction"

Came in today. I have a thing for orange knives. It's not as bright as I usually like but it's nice nonetheless. Not as smooth as my well broken in f95 SRBS but it'll get there. It's gonna get used. Alot. Planning on swapping the backspacer for a standoff. I prefer them.

Gorgeous, I too am a sucker for orange. I'd love to see some more pics to drool over.

With my apologies to Mike, I just had to have this one:

However my recent indulgences into the realm of pricier and rarer Shiros will not "bear" too well for my beloved serials: 111CF / F3R / NeOn Lite which be looking for good new homes soon. I'm fooling myself by repeating to myself that, "at least I'm not into the CD realm in terms of spending money yet!"

One thing that I think is cool---I took this picture after the tear down/pivot adjustment. But the screw locations are the same except the pivot, which I backed off to improve the action. If you compare to the pictures above just the pivot is moved back a touch.

You are not forgiven....
