The Beer Scout Knife

Just got in a Tortoise (thanks Bob!) and she's right at home with the Chestnut and of course an original sheepsfoot and caplifter Beerlow

Not my cup of tea, if they looked like the old red sawcut from the 77 Barlows I probably would have had to find a way to get yet another beer scout. So I'm kind of relieved. I'm very picky about my sawcut... :)

Received delivery confirmation, now I am (not) patiently waiting for our office service folks to deliver to my office...

I sure wish I could see a close up photo of that linen micarta to see what it looks like. The photos on GEC's website rarely have enough detail.

Same here. Guessing we will be getting an email to pay for them anytime now too.

You're crazy! These are the perfect color! I have #15 Scout (I'm carrying it today) and the only thing I wish is that the covers were just a bit more red (not darker, just more)... These will be perfect!

It looks like the blood orange camel bone SFO from KSF will have hot dog shields even though the production schedule says "no shield"

There's also a first look at the Brazilian bloodwood SFO from Barry.

I probably am, as I said I'm just really particular about my sawcut. I like more contrast between the reds. Hey, we can't all love them all. I think this red sawcut will be loved by many, and I'll be happy with my cocobolo and brown sawcut!

Oh great........ orange bone suddenly became much more appealing with a shield.

I had planned to stop at 1 "beer scout" and 2 "soda scouts" but I may have to scrape up some more cash. The bowtie is a fitting choice for this handle (unlike a stockman ;) ) and I've never had a knife hafted with bloodwood. I also like the color orange a lot so the SFO from KSF is also looking appealing.

The red saw cut looks terrific...it certainly looks as nice as on my 77 barlow, tho the 77 has more of that clotted blood look:thumbup:...and excited to get my notice. Hope Mike has some of those clipped sheaths also, been waiting on those to be back in stock!!!.

You too! I've been eying them, also. Maybe the man himself can give us an ETA if he runs across the thread :).

Yeah, at first glance, I thought it was a bummer on that shield HOWEVER, now that we have a visual of most of these #15's, I think Derrick and Barry's SFO's are the most attractive.

Well, so much for the ETA on those nifty little clipped sheaths :o. I just got my pre-order email and already sent payment. I did get some GEC Poppers, though. Which I think they will come in handy for future endeavors ;).

On surefire list for red blood sawcut:)
I may have the only one in Australia if all goes according to plan.
Thanks Evan:thumbup::thumbup:
