The Beer Scout Knife

Haha a female friend of mine also said she preferred the Red (secretly I think it looks amazing as well) but I'm trying to limit my purchases as of late with the reserves. Can't wait till everyone shows these in hand. The only surprise guest left is Barry's :D

Edit: Not sure if it's been posted yet but in 'what's happening by GEC' some brazilian bloodwood (If you look in the top left corner you can see the bowtie shield flush.

The orange bone ones for Knivesshipfree look awesome! (have a look)
Now, do I have to hunt for one of those or should I let reason win and just be happy with my ivory bone Beer Scout?!

Loving the tortoise acrylic and already have a nice patina starting. Been collecting slipjoints for a long time but as a beer lover think this knife is near perfect for me.

That said, I pre-ordered an Ebony and managed to find a sawcut chestnut bone after all were sold due to willydigger's first chestnut post. Still waiting on both from the postman.

Willydigger, would really like to know where you got that beer mug bead... Did you make that or purchase? Send me an email at my bladeforums handle at gmail.com if you could lead me in the right direction.

As the sun sinks in the Australian Bush.... time for a little celebration.... It's been a long wait but well worth it. (Thanks Robert Andrews... a true Gentleman!)

That Brazilian wood looks good, thanks.

And cool picture Derek, thanks for sharing.

Just got my ivory in and sharpened up. It's a real beauty. Nice easy pull on the sheepsfoot and good firm pull in the cap lifter/screwdriver. I'm happy with just this one... But the natural micarta, Ebony, blood red and cocobolo all look tempting.

My Sunbrite arrived on Friday. Can someone explain what the penny under the tube lid means?

My collection so far, I have a couple more coming. I can't possibly keep all of them but I am so indecisive when it comes to cover choices that I decided to buy and try. So far I am really liking the cocobolo.

I didn't watch the video but for some people (including myself) it is customary to give a small coin back when you receive a knife as a gift. Some people include a penny with the gifted knife and the penny is returned back to them. It's just a symbolic gesture. Something like....a knife is a cutting tool but your friendship won't be cut in two.

I was on the lathe today making prototypes so I decided to make up a bead for my incoming Soda Scout. I didn’t have my Scout knife handy so I attempted a profile resembling the Bowtie Shield outline in 3D. It’s not perfect, but I think I’ll throw it on one of my Soda Scouts anyway. I can’t wait for them to get here!

It's turned 6061 Aluminum that I rough wire brushed to give it a bit of texture.

I thought they weren't doing a shield on the Northwoods SFO? I have to say that was a giant let down for me. The arrowhead shield is one of the largest draws for me to the Northwoods line.........along with their gator like open and close.

I was looking at some (unrelated) pocket knives on google images when I spotted this:

Distant uncle to the beer scout? :D

It's not a northwoods, just a ksf SFO.
