The Beer Scout Knife

Howdy yall:)

My two BS cam in today:D they're both REALLY nice and just perfect F&F! I can't find a single thing wrong with it:):):) I'm just not sure I can keep them:( I know that the responsible thing to do is to just put them up for sale to yall:) but I like them so much that it's a quite a hard decision:(:o

Well enough of the jibber jabber and on to the pics:)

Nice Ryan! Keep the one you like and sell the other. You need one to crack a cold one now and then. ;)

I've been seriously trying to reduce knife purchases by at least only getting one of each release I'm interested in. It's been a tough inner fight to resist several of these beer scouts because Barry's SFO is the one I decided to get. Glad they're up now, order placed! Now if I can just look away from the KSF SFO, I'm smitten with that rust orange camel bone. My will may crumble

Just received my ebony BSK. Once again, I've been fortunate to have gotten a very nice specimen. Ebony handles are perfect, the shield is well inlaid, springs and liners smooth and tight. Great GEC quality. It matches my ivory bone in quality and appearance. Naturally, the first thing I did after cleaning and lightly applying some Renaissance wax, was to open my first beer. The beer is cold the knife is cool....it's a good night.

I put my order in for Barry's Bloodwood BSK. Thank you Barry for a great looking knife. I like the bow tie too.

I was on the fence at first when seeing the initial pictures of the bloodwood but I knew the wood would look much different after being finished. Holy cow! Order placed Barry!!!

Damn, these came faster than I had figured. I thought another week or so. I haven't built up my account yet. I'll need to stop looking at the picks of these Bloodwood SFO's :(

Just put in an order for bloodwood as well!
BTW, to anyone with a cap lifter pull that is impossible to open, I was able to bring mine down from what I would consider a 9 (i.e., I actually tore 5 nails between my hands and eventually needed to use a screwdriver inserted in the nic to open) to a very comfortable 5-6. I did this by stretching the spring a bit by opening the blade to the 3/4 position after inserting a thin micro screwdriver so the spring was a bit overextended. After 24 hours the pull had relaxed significantly and is now very reasonable. While I suspect such behavior is not good for the knife's backspring, it nonetheless made me satisfied enough that I bought another, and another..... If i wouldn't have been able to tame the pull, I would have never ordered more.

WOW, fantastic pictures everyone:thumbup:

My Ebony arrived today as well---these are very addictive---just ordered Barry's Bloodwood version also:o

In the best way.:D

Whose latest potato chip was shipped to the wrong town today, 1 hr away after being all of 20 minutes away (and in the local USPS system) as of yesterday afternoon.

Sorry if this has been brought up already...

With regards to the bails, on my chestnut, the bail has some friction to the movement, which I like, since it doesn't flop around freely. On the tortoise shell I just got, the bail moves as free as can be.

How are yours??? How are they supposed to be?
