:thumbup:At some point you won't be able to tell no matter how good you are at spotting fakes. CRK's are production knives run off CNC machines just like a CRKT or Kershaw. All it takes is to duplicate the materials and machine operations, which can be done anywhere by anyone that has the resources, and you're effectively getting the same thing. Still, I'd rather pay the extra $$$ for the real deal just because Reeve is the man and the Chinese counterfeiters are a bunch of unimaginative thieves.
What I'd like to know is who are the vendors selling this crap?? It's one thing to stop the manufacture of this bs, but it certainly help to know where they are coming into the US and resold. by the way, I do not know if any of you saw this in the news last week, but the Chinese are flooding the market of solar panels, there by destroying the value of the US made ones. Bottom line, is that the Chinese government is doing this on purpose with its sole purpose to destroy the United States.
Well the people selling these to US customers are mostly private individuals in China. According to the info I've gathered these are not meant for sale to the US and the so called official dealers for this manufacturer do not sell to the US. As for the Chinese government trying to destroy the the high end knife...I'm not too sure about that one.lol
As I've said before the only way for US products to stay on top is through innovation, this applies to all industries.
I know a knife maker in China who makes sebenza counterfeit. Almost the same perfection as the original if not better, in same price range also.
I just watched this on my iPhone, so it's tough to tell, but this really looks like a real sebenza and someone is just screwing around. Will watch on computer later on to be sure.
Not exactly. The blade is still hand ground as far as I know and that's why the grinds look different, especially at the beginning, close to the handle. It's clearly different.CRK's are production knives run off CNC machines just like a CRKT or Kershaw.
