The BFC 2007 Canittler Is Completed!!!

Sorry folks, I got a little behind due to some last minute holiday travels, but I sent a pile out today, and I have about twelve more to send out tomorrow, which should about wrap it up I think. Everyone should have them by the middle of next week:D. I don't think the clerks at the Post Office like me anymore:( Judy, yours was in today's batch:thumbup:, In the interest of full disclosure, I did send Gus the #2 knife. I didn't think anyone would mind since he deserves, and always refuses, a heck of a lot more than that. We owe this tradition to you Gus, and I thank you for getting the ball rolling:thumbup:

Eric

Thanks for the update Eric. I hope you had a great holiday!

Eric

Yippee for me! Yippee for me! What number did I get? huh? huh? huh? I told you to just leave my knife here over Christmas, but you just wouldn't do it. Sheesh.

Thanks for everything, Eric. I sincerely appreciate all of the work that went into getting this off the ground and seen through to completion.

Kudos, and my bra's off to you. Oops. :o Did I just type that? Never mind. I kept my panties on...... :p ;)

Thanks again,

TJ

Somebody asked for a closed picture, so here's one:

In the picture, the bolsters look very rough and scratched. However, in reality they are very nicely finished- my camera seems to have magnified the tool marks. I like the way the scales came out- the color and finish is excellent. With natural materials, you never know how it will come out- it always a gamble. The box was full of that funky fresh cut horn (that's what I associate the semll with) smell. The edges seemed superb. The Bladeforums etch on the blade- I wonder if that will stand the test of time...hmmm...The high polish finish is nice- bad for photographing however.

This is my most expensive folder- the quality is top notch. The velvet sack was a nice touch as well. I'm very happy with this knife. Well worth the wait.

ETA: I have number 49.

#40 arrived today, safe and sound, packed to survive nuclear war :D

Thanks again, Eric!

# 34 is home. Fellas, this knife is SWEET!. Fit and finish is top notch. I'm going to put it away a while, but man will it be hard to keep this one out of the pocket.

Just got mine as well, what a good looking knife. Thanks again for everything you've done Eric, I love the knife! CSC makes a heckuva knife.

#2 was waiting for me when I got home today.
Beautiful knife. It is up there with some of the best factory knives I own.

Eric,
You did a great job. Thank you for all the work.

Man I'm starting to look at the mailman funny, thinking she might have a box misplaced somewhere.

I got #046 today. I will try and post a picture in the other thread tomorrow. I notice from the pics, the color of the mastodon varies. Mine is a little off white, or very, very light brown. They matched the scales perfectly. It is a beautiful knife & I want to thank ea42 for the great work. (If your short money from the tax addition, e-mail me and I will help.) You did a great job with this whole project.

Also, I really like the choice of knives, I love the 3 blade canoe style of the cannitler. The springs are qutie strong and the blades are sharp right out of the box. I am torn about if I should use this knife or leave it on a mantle. My guess is, I will use it very lightly. Maybe carry it in my pocket once in awhile, but not to use for heavy cutting.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! It was great taking part in this endevour, I almost wish it wasn't over yet! I've still got about eight knives to send out, so for those of you who haven't gotten them, don't panic yet. T., yours went out in todays batch:) The woman behind me at the P.O. beaned me over the head with her envelope when she saw the pile of boxes I had to mail. I subsequently let her go ahead of me to avoid a more serious beating( I kept one eye on the mob behind her the whole time I was there):D

Eric

Those post office visits can be rough. Not to mention the time spent there. :D.

Eric, take some satisfaction that you have put some great knives in the hands of a bunch of folksy brothers (and a fine sister!) to ease the pain. ;).

Did you get that part Judy???
That should be a good ego boost.

Number 001 just got to me today, and I'm a very happy camper! The quality of the knife is great, and it's more pocketable than I thought it would be.

Thank you all very, very much, and espcially Eric for his expert ramroding of the work involved.

Now should I carry it?

Still no love in this neck of the woods. Maybe Monday...
