The BFC 2007 Canittler Is Completed!!!

Eric, take some satisfaction that you have put some great knives in the hands of a bunch of folksy brothers (and a fine sister!) to ease the pain. ;).

Wow.... thanks, Gus.....sniffle sniffle....shucks.... :D

Did you get that part Judy???
That should be a good ego boost.

Thanks, Tracks! I actually did miss Gus' post. Yep, it sure was a good ego boost. If my buttons weren't already popping off, they would be now! :p ;)

Just got #45 today. A helluva knife for the money! Thanks for seeing this through Eric. Good on ya!

#15 arrived today  along with a bill for $15,000 for my ankle surgery:thumbdn:, funny thing, after the insurance kicked in their part the knife was more expensive than the ankle surgery.

Pics to follow.:D

Anyone start a registration thread, like who's got what number so far?

Number 52 made it's way to my home today. A cursory inspection has been completed and the results are::D:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for all the work Eric!

Lucky number 13 arrived today. Thanks to Eric and Canal Street for doing a great job on our forum knife!

Received # 51 yesterday.

Fine knife, indeed.

Thanks again, Eric!

My wife was off work today for a doctor's appointment. She called me late morning around 0930 to tell me she had gone to the post office and that I had a box for me. Actually it was more like, "I haave a booox for yooouuuu. It's from...."

Naturally, I had to wait all day to get home to open it. Hah, and they wanted to know if I wanted to work four hours over today! Ah, yeah, sure - NOT!

Anyway a very knice little mammoth ivory knife is sitting here by the computer. All three blades shaved hair right out of the box. I was really surprised when, after getting out the trusty magnifier so I could see (progressive lenses and age, sheesh), that it was #005! Kewl!

Thanks again, Eric for everything!

Maybe I should take this along to my CHL class on this Saturday and my combination CHL qualification and Commissioned Security Officer requal range, just to have y'all along in spirit. I almost waited to late to renew my commission. That would have made it a little complicated at work. ;) So if any of you smell a little gun smoke on Sunday and have the faint feel of a 1911 in your hand it's because I took the forum knife and a bit of everyone here with me. :D

Madcap, yours was in the last batch to go out, you should have it by Saturday, Monday at the latest.

Eric

Thanks for all your effort, Eric!
Here's mine; kind of a cool beige color! My visiting daughter said EEWWWW! when she saw it on my usual yellow background and threw me something black for a third picture!

The eagle has landed. . . . .repeat. . . . .the eagle has landed. :D

I wish I ordered two !

Start to finish. . . . .mostest excellent job, Eric !

Got mine too, showed up Thursday I think, but I was out of town till Friday evening, so thats when I got my grubby little mitts on it.

Little surprised to see that the grinds are significantly off, clean, but not centered at all, anywhere (I take that back, the coping blade is relatively centered). I never expect perfection from a knife in this price range, but Cases etc usually have better symetry.

Ah well, I'm a user kinda user anyway and it doesn't effect function in the least. Anyone else notice any issues?

Syn

Syn, I just took mine out of my pocket for a look. I have the same thing, but I assume from the cleanliness of th egrinds that intentional for some reason, not a fault per se?
If I was being really picky with mine I could point out that the fit of the scales isn't perfect, that both small blades rub slightly on the liners, and that I suspect they've tried to go too fine a polish on the blades as the main blades surface is sort of rippled a tiny bit when you look at it in the light.
I've heard that D2 doesn't like to have too fine a buffing & I guess that's what's happened.
Finally the tip of the main blade is juuust about proud of the liner. Not enough to be an issue for some time I think, but if I used & sharpened this as often as some of you guys, then I'd be thinking about filing the kick in a few months.
But frankly you have to look closely to see any of these things.
