The BladeForums 2022 Traditional Knife Thread

Mate, you step back and utilize your time how it bests suits you. You have gone above and beyond in your

dedication here, put your feet up my friend. And have a good and safe New year, i will have a cold one for you. ;)💯. 🍻🍻🍻

Well said My Friend!
Here, Here! !
If it weren't for Charlie we WOULDN'T have a form knife!
I'm not down playing Sparks contributions but we all know who started this conversation with Bill.

Dave

There were about a dozen (13-14 I think) "S" models. They came to me, and since I had to pay for them, I asked GunstockJack to sell them, as Spark and I were busy getting your orders out to you all. Spark has his hands full with the bulk of them to ship. I hope he gets to you all soon!!!
When I order 550 knives, I have to guarantee the payment for all of them!!! In my opinion this is a great knife with a great history behind it.
If there is going to be another BF knife, I hope someone steps up to handle it.
It's getting to be too much for this old Fart!!!
I appreciate all the times you've stepped up for us Charlie.

The 2015 knife is still my favorite traditional, and it is the one that really sold me on traditional patterns. If it wasn't for you stepping up year after year, I don't think I would have been motivated to stick around as much as I have. I originally joined the forums to look into non-traditional knives, but I am pretty well satisfied on that front. I drifted over to the porch because it seemed like a friendly place with a lot of giveaways. I really came to like the place, and the annual forum knife has given me something to look forward to and motivation to stay plugged in to things around here.

Time, like all resources, is finite. The forum knife gives me a physical representation of the time I spend reading, learning, and participating here. I wouldn't have most of my traditionals if it wasn't for you stepping up time and again. Thank you.

I greatly appreciate all the help you gave me to find a Bunny Knife for sale here on the forum, and also for getting the ball rolling on the BF 2022. You went well above and beyond for everyone involved. I also appreciate you pointing me to GunstockJack last week, in case I ever want to acquire one of your previously owned traditional knives that you passed down to him. I do want to own a piece of waynorth memorabilia someday.

I don't know if anyone could fill your shoes as well as you on the next one, so we will have to wait and see.

Bad assumption!!!
When an "S" model didn't pass inspection as a top grade model, it was not serialized!!
All dozen of the "S" models were sold in the USA!!! The ones shipped to EU are all serialized and are top grade models!!
That was a no serious post, hence the smiley face - It is unsettling when there is so much worrying amongst the members, not meaning you, that you feel necessary to reply to such a comment, just in case it was a serious one.

Do not worry about my post, the efforts of all involved are appreciated by me.

I hear you. I was sitting calmly by waiting without a word, but then I get an email offering the knife to the general public. I guess it rubbed me the wrong way.

I'll go back to waiting quietly...the whole GEC thing disturbs me as well, but it is what it is as my mom always says.

500 plus knives sent out by individuals (doing this for love) one by one at Christmas and with all the ensuing extra burden on the postal system.

Will never be done as quickly by a business (geared up to sell and post) sending out a dozen at the most.

Looking at the weather in North America I am surprised anything is getting through.

looks to me like people are going through hellish conditions,it kind of puts a knife into perspective.

Now if someone was depending on the Bunny knife to go out and put Bunny food on the table I could understand the angst.

Me I use the supermarket 😂

I’ve stayed out of the moaning but (like a fool) going to enter the discussion. GunStockJack is a good and honorable man, just a few years ago he handled the forum knife with all that entails for no pay either. Research before you smear a fellow. Spark, I don’t know him, but he is spending his Christmas packing and shipping for us, again at no profit to his business. Charlie has worked his magic for us numerous times, or there would have been no BF Knives. This is a nice knife but it is just a knife, nothing to get so wrapped around the axle about. I paid in October too, if it doesn’t get here until February I will survive and so will you! OH

Thank you, Bruce, I was going to add the same word about GunstockJack's. Barry has gone above and beyond for us in the past, and I have no problem at all with Charlie using him to sell the store models. My Bunny still has not come, either, but it will, and it won't diminish in usefulness or value by being a week or two behind. Spark deserves a good holiday season, as well.

Well shoot, I got a email yesterday saying that a dealer was selling “S” model Bunny Knives… I thought, crap! I paid for my BF knife on Oct. 13 and still hadn’t heard anything. I figured I was gonna have to make some calls and make sure i was actually on the list to get the Hare Slicer.
Then, like a lightning bolt from the mighty hand of Zeus, lo and behold, first thing in the morning on Jan. 31… I received a shipping notice!!!
One more thing to be grateful for in 2022!
Big thanks to the powers that make these things happen and Happy New Year to all y’all Porchsters rockin’ in yer chairs!

Please don't throw the towel in Charlie...... The knife community is infinitely richer because of your efforts...... I'm looking forward to your involvement on future designs, offerings, etc.. I'm also appreciative to Spark Spark for his approval and efforts in getting these knives shipped to the members.... Without these two Gentlemen there wouldn't be a 2022 forum knife.

I've done business with gunstockjack gunstockjack for quite a few years..... He is a businessman who is entitled to make a living the same as all of us..... I hope Barry is making a good living same as I hope all of you are doing .... If Barry is making $20.00, $50.00 or $100.00 per knife it's none of my business.... If I don't like the price I can move along.... "S" models go to various dealers to be sold...... If these knives had been sold in the GEC store or gone to KSF nobody would have batted an eye......

I love the English language even when its changed to something a bit different to what we speaks in old Blighty 😁

Enjoy your knife when it arrives "happy new year to you"

waynorth waynorth Charlie, I had this long speech in my head and I thought, ah man, Charlie doesn't want to hear all that:oops:😮😁 Thank you Charlie!!! I have soooo many knives (like I need another);) I'm to old to get my undies in a bunch over a knife not getting here by a certain date...why would I when I can just take one if not all of Campbellclanman Campbellclanman Duncan's that are awaiting shipping to New Zedland;)😁

Rec'd tracking today so I'm excited for it's arrival. I panicked wondering "did I include my forum name when I paid for it"? so I sent Spark Spark a fax or 12!!! hey the damn machine just kept on sending them to the point where Kevin called me and said "Paul, could you stop sending continued faxes"? Sorry Kevin!! but it's that damn fax machine...thanks to all involved🙂

Just a note, all that I said above is true🙂😁
