The BladeForums 2022 Traditional Knife Thread

I found those sharp corners at the transition of the swedge to be...well...sharp, so I softened them a little on each side and for me it doesn't hurt the look, and now, it doesn't hurt when I accidentally brush against it them either ;)
my friend Tim Wright always says, 'the only part on a knife that should be sharp is the edge'

There's something special about those very black ones! 😍

Will someone with a ruler or a set of calipers, etc. who knows what the heck they're doing (Gary Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley comes to mind) measure the closed length of their 2022 BF Bunny Knife and get back to me and let me know what you get. I get 3 3/8" but several people and even the Mock up by GEC say 3 1/2" .

and butting the bolster end up against a flat side and the ruler also against the same flat side, you can see the length is just over 3 3/8"

😲😲😲 That’s only 98.4% of the knife that we paid for!

Back when I was in the Navy we ordered 100 feet of striped colored wire. The package arrived with one foot of wire and a tag attached that said 99 feet back ordered!!!
Insane
So, maybe the rest of the knife will be shipped out at a later date?
🤣

Pardon my ignorance but what are the S models?
I believe the "S" stands for shop or store. They are basically the same knife, but without the serial #.
Yes there was an overrun of knives past the 550. The extras were not serialized, and were sold elsewhere. I'm not sure the quantity, but I don't believe there were very many.

Anyone in the last sale batch of 30 receive theirs yet?
Received 541 yesterday.

ETA: Just realized I almost ended up with some symmetry. Since 151 was the first in the US, my 159 is 8 away from that end. And with 550 total, 541 is 9 away from that end. Will have to settle for being in the first 10 and the last 10.

As I said last night, I too found those edges a bit sharp but I haven't gotten around to softening them yet. However, I did discover that the blade tip of the clip blade was a bit proud of the frame and I solved that by removing steel from the spine of the clip blade tip. It only took a few strokes on my diamond stone and the blade tip now rest nicely in the frame.

It is sad in some way how rabbits have been decimated. I'm young enough but even in my lifetime I've seen them go from plentiful to relatively scarce. You may scoff at that notion when you read 200 million, but Australia is a very big place and id also like to know how they come to that estimate.
They first released a virus called myxomatosis which had a pretty good kill rate, populations hung on though. More recently a couple of variations of calicivirus has really reduced the numbers.
Where I grew up hunting them with ferrets and the 22 for a regular and consistent feed for the family, I now see none. Just empty warrens.
My grandmother used to tell me how important underground mutton was for the meat component of a country person's life, particularly during the depression.

They were first released near Geelong, which is a few hours from me. The British also released foxes which have been a far bigger environmental issue. Both were for sport and to make Australia more England like. I guess they didn't like Galahs, wombats, wallabies, cockatooos, kookaburras, kangaroos and emus!
