The BladeForums 2022 Traditional Knife Thread

Started the year busier than expected. My Bunny knife landed on the last day of the year, quite appropriate. Truly grateful to every last person that brought this knife to life and worked hard to get it to all of us. 🙏 Excellent feel in hand, nice f/f . What a dandy!

Well, I’ve waited a couple of weeks to see if #315 would show up. 320 went back in the tube and I hadn’t even looked at it until today. 320 is now accepted into the family and won’t be treated like a red headed step child. It’ll get used like any other knife I own and will eventually develop its own personality. It has some nice brown streaking and is about as perfectly made as you could possibly get.

should 315 materialize someday there is always the possibility 320 could be reunited with its true family (switched at birth is what I’m going with). If not, 320 does have a red headed sibling that has taken it under their wing and will show them the ropes…

I found those sharp corners at the transition of the swedge to be...well...sharp, so I softened them a little on each side and for me it doesn't hurt the look, and now, it doesn't hurt when I accidentally brush against it them either ;)
my friend Tim Wright always says, 'the only part on a knife that should be sharp is the edge'

Gary Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley - It's the same with mine too. I'll take your lead and do the same to mine.

I think it’s a good thing to do, I taped all around the area so any slip of the stone won’t scratch any other areas

Will someone with a ruler or a set of calipers, etc. who knows what the heck they're doing (Gary Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley comes to mind) measure the closed length of their 2022 BF Bunny Knife and get back to me and let me know what you get. I get 3 3/8" but several people and even the Mock up by GEC say 3 1/2" .
