The BladeForums 2022 Traditional Knife Thread

Well done on all fronts! The knife looks great, the label is cool, I am thrilled to be getting one of these in a few weeks.

Clean it, take off the polish on the blade then soak the blade in hot cider vinegar. I did that to the 2020 blade I believe and it came out uniform black gray color. Don’t forget to rinse and repeat and use the blade to stir to remove the bubbles form on the blade. I wish I still had the picture of mine when it was pulled out.
Be aware that using the blade after soaking will result in affecting the uniform finish. The patina that appears is only on the surface and use and wiping afterwards will affect the finis essentially wiping the fine layer of oxide that formed on the carbon steel.
Still it looks great.
 
No ones gunna see the "hidden joke" ...its probably just too obscure....although I dropped a clue in a previous post.....it is maybe simply too subtle or to put another way...lame...its fine line.
