The BladeForums 2022 Traditional Knife Thread

My BF 39 arrived yesterday..... I think it is a top knife for me in 2022.... As the Hip people say, "It checks all the boxes".... Shown with it's spearpoint stable mates.... The BF has differently positioned pulls which are easier to access than the spearpoints.....

Thank you Bill, Spark Spark and waynorth waynorth !.... I appreciate you making this knife a reality....

Here is number 211. This is a great pattern. I cannot wait to see what GEC does with it in the future. Barlows with a curved handle are special and rare. Don’t even mention a Zulu Spear; definitely one of my all time favorites! And of course, Caplifters! We can never get too many of those. I also hope to see some varieties with a coping blade and a punch. (I don’t know why, but pen blades just don’t appeal to me.)

This one is perfectly put together as you would expect from GEC. When I first began collecting, I thought Ebony was boring. Now, it is my absolute favorite and just about the only wood that I will buy. Funny how your taste changes over time.

No tracking number yet here either. I did, however, order very late in the game (was gonna sit this one out, but then it called and got the better of me, y’all know how that goes!) so I’m expecting a high number, and they definitely seem to be numbered roughly sequentially based on the photos we’re seeing so far. When it gets here it gets here :)

Anybody got a picture of the packaging Kevin is using to ship these knives - box, padded envelope, ??? Asking because the packaging will determine if they can fit the package in my mailbox or if I'll have to go to the Post Office in town to pick it up.

Modoc ED Modoc ED ... bout 7 3/4 long, 4 3/8 wide and ... not shown with a scale, but bout 3 3/8 tall/thick
EDIT: Just to add ... if a package is too large for my mailbox, the mail person leaves it on my porch by the front door, but this one fit the box out on the street fine.

Thanks for the info and pictures. The box show is too big for our individual mail box. We have this kind of mailbox about two miles up the road from us - actually four of them in a row.

There are, as shown, two large boxes in each unit as shown but Priority Mail, Special Delivery, etc. gets priority for those boxes so, it looks like I'll be making a trip to town for mine.

Hi Mr. Ed. I’m in this same type of mail box. The mailman put mine on the front porch
