Which computer/laptop did you go with and what website was it from? I hate computers :D As an old school gamer I have a huge tub of parts from computers that weren't cutting edge... I could probably make at least 3 whole machines that would suffice for today. I've spent way too much time building and problem solving pcs... luckily with laptops I just buy a new one and box up the old one after a hard drive swipe.. those are piling up too.. got some heavy ones from years ago =o

Oldest kid is at grandparents for the WEEK! should be mellow here with only one beak to please :)

stay healthy!

Nice on the break!!!

I got that laptop I linked but even cheaper from a private seller on ebay. I mainly got it because the reviews said it was sturdier than normal... seems OK so far... have spent all morning removing programs from it in hopes of getting it up to speed! lol I think these cloud drives are slowing it way down... (and I think I just may have them removed! or disabled!)

I remember an older friend having 4 Commodore SX-64's linked up together with rotary phones hacked to speed dial... lol it was awesome!!! He hacked into everything... this was probably in 1987. Karateka!

let me know if you want to sell a laptop! :)

Orale!

^^^ I know... that's why I 'm checking. I heard the mountain goats went on strike last time Daniel went tear-assin down the mountain and just about creamed 2 of 'em.

Sara just came in with the mail and ohh yeah!!!!!!

Tony, the knives look killer!!!! I just opened the package up and am blown away... top notch work and your lines really set them off!

I'll have pics tomorrow, if you guys follow instagram be sure to check out inrangedesign!

They are really light and the wood handles feel so good in the hand. I'm not sure which one is my favorite but I have to say the Koa is something else!

There really are massive sheep herds I have to wade through at times to get the mail! It's legal to herd anywhere here as long as it is not fenced and it gets crazy!

My mail is also about 3 miles away down the roughest road in the county... we go off roading and my driveway is worse! Packages are left in a drop box on the highway...

Those look awesome. I've always felt like the backpacker would benefit from a handle. Nice work both of you.

You ah... going to be offering retrofits? ;)

For those not on instagram, here are some pics for your enjoyment. Handles are all professionally stabilized (K&G), one in maple, one in walnut and one in koa. Handles are epoxied with GFlex, stainless steel pins and lanyard tube, and finished in several coats of tru oil.

One of the reasons I wanted to work with Daniel is that I really like the way he develops nice flats and bevels on his handles. He strikes a really cool balance with the function of the handle that always complements the grinds on his blades - it all just works together. I like to honor that in the handles I do.

In fact for these, I used the tang of the backpacker to do the layout lines on the blanks. The curves and lines made a perfect template!

TR, Nice work! The handle design fits the knife great.
D, I'm with Bobby, that surface grinder is amaaaaazing! I neeed one....but I may need a 2nd job to get it.

sad day for me, i think i lost my blue backpacker :/ My pops didn't borrow it so now i got to ask my gf if I left it at her house.
