Morning guys!
Got the day off, so I started early this morning working on my new rifle stock. Needed to modify the inletting so my aftermarket trigger fit in there as well as open up the barrel channel a bit to give the .040" clearance away from the barrel as that's the amount I think looks right. Got it fitting pretty good now. Fits snug and everything lines up nicely.
I think I'm going just mount the scope and leave it right now, work up a good load for it and worry about sandblasting and coating this winter after the hunting trip.
I do inletting the old school way, sharp chisels and lots of test fitting. I don't have a vise to clamp the stock and use end mills.
New barrel is nearly 3 inches longer, should get me just about 100 fps more velocity.
Hope this thing shoots good, as much work as I have put into it over the last decade... but being built in October 1918, I'm not going to give up on it, it deserves it!
