5' is on the short side if you look to the rope dart Chinese weapon.
Except it's not meant to be a rope dart/meteor hammer.

I made an improvised short spear
Then I weaponized a selfie stick
Also made a two handed machete
All that work made me hungry so I then made dinner

Been playing some Watch Dogs 2?
If I could get it for PS3 I would. I found out about this through youtube, and just had to build it for myself.
I need to rebuild it though. I'm worried that the bolt threads are going to strip out of the soft plastic inside if I hit something too hard with it.
I don't play it either, just remember it from a gameplay trailer. Yeah, you definitely want some type of steel reinforcement on the other side of that 8 ball if you plan to use it at all. A nut and washer would kinda destroy the look but make it much more robust.
I have just such an idea in mind. I have a prototype like that, but my recessing for the nut wasn't flush. I'll try again.
In the meantime, what about injecting epoxy down the hole and threading the shaft into it?
Could definitely help. That 5 minute Gorilla Glue epoxy is some tough stuff.
