I am the proud owner of an SR1 Lite. It's a terrific knife. I don't edc it, but I know where to go when I have a tough job----again, Cold Steel to save the day for guys like me.Do you own an SR1? This thread actually made me dig up my old Recon 1, and even tho it’s plenty strong for what I’d use it for, if I ever did buy another Cold Steel it would be the SR1. Just because it seems ridiculous. .17 blade stock, 7.2oz
For letter opener guys like Jeremiah Weaver, they stick with the CRKT Hissatsus for Japanese steakhouse chefs and letter opening EDC knives, because that is all they need. For these guys, Cold Steel AD-10 and SR1 Lite----not so much. And, I totally get that for people who have the lifestyle of Jeremiah Weaver and shinyedges. For those guys, it's opening Amazon boxes and watching their custom knives collect dust that they pull out every now and then just to gawk it and say they're the best because it is custom made, has titanium and better hardware, which is a theoretical point of no practical consequence or an aesthetic difference amounting to nothing and obviously not a practical concern given what I have put my Cold Steel AD10 through.
