The Cold Steel AD10 is the best knife money can buy.

Please show me the indisputable evidence that has been shown by anyone on this thread of their custom made knives or whatever being superior to anyone else's?

Your grandstanding really shows your insecurities, sir.
Where did I make that claim? You, on the other hand, made a positive claim that 'a lot of people' agree with you about the Cold Steel AD-10. Burden of proof is on you.

I've seen hard evidence of shinyedges shinyedges using both that Bodyguard and many other very expensive knives. So now he has an eyewitness here, testifying and you claim to have eyewitnesses, but none are here. So now his claim has evidence and yours does not.
It's almost like the knife guy on a knife forum with the screen name "shinyedges" who's been on there for a decade has many posts of using knives and has many people who's been around a long time to witness it... almost...

Is this thread really still a thing...?

I am the proud owner of an SR1 Lite. It's a terrific knife. I don't edc it, but I know where to go when I have a tough job----again, Cold Steel to save the day for guys like me.

For letter opener guys like Jeremiah Weaver, they stick with the CRKT Hissatsus for Japanese steakhouse chefs and letter opening EDC knives, because that is all they need. For these guys, Cold Steel AD-10 and SR1 Lite----not so much. And, I totally get that for people who have the lifestyle of Jeremiah Weaver and shinyedges. For those guys, it's opening Amazon boxes and watching their custom knives collect dust that they pull out every now and then just to gawk it and say they're the best because it is custom made, has titanium and better hardware, which is a theoretical point of no practical consequence or an aesthetic difference amounting to nothing and obviously not a practical concern given what I have put my Cold Steel AD10 through.
While I can appreciate your enthusiasm for the AD10, that’s a cheap shot to make an assumption about what kind of lifestyle they live and what they should/shouldn’t do with the knives they bought with their own money! I’ve put $80-$100 (liner lock) knives through all kinds of hell that I don’t do to my more expensive knives but not because they can’t handle it.

Letter opener?

How about this thread where I used my 400.00 plus knife to pry my chainsaw free?

You shouldn't assume things about people's lifestyle or how they use their knives. Especially in the case of people who have 20k posts many of which are about using knives.

Read more post less.

Well, that's never happened. Must be one of those things that can happen in theory, but never happens in practical situations---at least not with my Cold Steel AD10.
Well, that is interesting.

I have had a Delica and a Bush Ranger both have pivot screws work themselves out while using them. Thankfully I found the Bush Ranger screw, and the Spyderco one was still hanging by its last thread.

So I would assume it can happen, cause it did.

And on that note, I really really like my Bush Rangers. Tough knife, no liners to trap moisture, and a defined tip.

I don't doubt the AD10 is an awesome folder though. But to be labeled "The best knife money can buy" is subjective to the user.

I've had the pivot screw back out on a few knives. Emersons were the worst, by far, but another that it happened on was a Cold Steel Talwar. Oh well, maybe OP doesn't use his knives as much as we do. 😜

I've had many pivots come loose as well. It's why I have like 3 things of blue loctite floating around my house.
That's been my solution as well. Have a good buddy in the Navy that lost the pivot off his CQC-10 and brought it to me asking why the blade play was so bad! Had to order another screw to fix that one up.

Can't believe this dumb thread is still going. "Best" is entirely relative to one's individual use and taste. If I want a small, discreet knife, that's not the AD10. If I'm breaking down miles of cardboard, the AD10 isn't the best knife. If I just want a knife that's beautiful to look at and handle, the AD10 isn't the best knife. If I want to cut brush... you get the idea.

Maybe the AD10 is the best moderately priced hard use folder with merely adequate steel and a very good lock, I don't know.

Already watched that episode, can't say I was impressed.

And your thread should be entitled the custom knives I love that collect dust in my drawer because I'll never use them for anything that might mess them up. 🤣

But, then again, what do you care? You presumably like knives and I like knives---the similarities between us end right there. Why? Because you're just a collector, and I'm a user, and the difference couldn't be greater in that regard. That ends the comparison regarding knife needs and experiences between the two of us right there.

And there's nothing wrong with that, but perhaps you should spend more time talking about something that you do actually have some knowledge about, and not something you don't, and that's why you don't want to go barking up my tree ever again.
you're way off there. I've been reading and seeing pictures for 10 years of shinyedges using high dollar knives. he puts them to use, no safe queens in his stable.

Ahem:

Don't you be trying to steal my vouches 🧐

Don't give anything away! The suspense is killing me.

Not sure why there's so much anger here. Someone denying the exact model of knife they said is the best is somehow worse when made stronger and with higher quality components is legitimately funny.

Thread of the year right here, in just before voting starts on January 1 😄
