Lycosa- Its laminated steel so what looks to be a temper line is actually cooler then one. The dark part is the exposed carbon steel which is sandwiched underneath stainless steel.

I've been wearing this little guy around my neck all day, and I'm really liking its flatness and light weight. However, I think I am going to make a pocket sheath for it, and wrap the handle in hemp cord, since a pocket knife is more useful to me than one I wear hanging from my neck.

I guess I'm a little paranoid that I'll either cut myself pulling the knife out, or stab myself putting it back. Neck knives are not the best idea, but they're a cool little secret charm you can walk around with:)

The laminating technology is really neat, and I've always been drawn to it- first by Cold Steel's tantos, and later by Fallkniven outdoor knives. This knife represents the next step for me toward the ultimate in this techno format.

The next Burt Foster knife for me is going to be of san mai construction, but it is going to be BIG. I'll have to save up for a few years, but hey, we all need goals, right?:D

Burt's the one that deserves the congratulations on a fine idea and a fine knife:thumbup:
Get those knives in the hands of folk who would not otherwise be able to afford it.:)

the more I use this little dude the more I like it! It cuts stuff with aplomb:D

Here's a large laminate to add to the mix. I highly recommend the upgrade to the VERY nicely finished leather sheath unless you positively MUST wear this knife as a necklace. You'll not likely get more from $20 anywhere.

Thanks Stuart - I was deliberately trying to mimic Lorien's shot for comparative purposes.

Uh OH!

I ordered a small damascus one with both style sheaths. The leather one will have a little stud/frog/whateveritscalled thing in case I wanna try holding it up that way. If I like it i'll get a laminated one at some point.

Pictures when I get it.

Heres the small damascus one. Excuse my poor pics.

Not sure what the brown tint is here. It does not look like that in real life.

This sheath was made a little shorter by my request and has a stud.
