The Dork Ops guys have their own forum!

I just posted on there as "boondoggle". Figured I'd disagree with you guys for the hell of it. Just curious to see what kind of replies Dark Ops may have.

Hey, should I post a product review? Heh heh..

When you start a topic it says that it will apppear after it has been approved by a mod. I have a feeling thta not many of our questions will be posted or answered.

Guys, you're wasting your time. They've set up their forum software so your posts don't get posted until they're read and approved by the moderator.

We don't do things that way here at Bladeforums....

can anyone see my post? i'm "katzenjammer". i can see it, but maybe i'm the only one. i replied in "the" thread.

abe m.

They may not have knives but they have names for them. Here they are:

Black Raven
Interceptor 911
Paul Basal Shadow
Strato Fighter
Strato Fighter Covert

I think the Strato Fighter Covert is the one you've been talking about. You know, the one you can't see.

I can see your post and mine appeared instantly.
Strange nickname, man!

Well, I thought long and hard about whether I should make this post, but I figured "what the hell!" - flame me if you want.

I don't understand why you are going to their forum to essentially disrupt it. Sure, their advertising is rediculous and their hardware is vaporware (so far). But, these people have done nothing to anybody to deserve this. I've laughed along with everybody else while reading posts poking fun at their ads and hardware because that was funny and was within the Bladeforums "family", but now I think we're crossing the line. I think we should have more class. Those guys are just trying (ineptly) to get a company up and running. Give them a chance. The marketplace will weed them out if their product sucks, and ER will go after them if they have violated any patents.

I hope I haven't pissed off anybody, but I wanted to say my piece. Lets play nice ! :)

Thanks for listening.

1. They give knives and SD-minded people a bad rep.
2. They are Extrema Ratio knock-offs trying to make money off their designs.

Seems like posts in the "Trade Shows" forum are displayed only after they received a moderator's approval.

I just tried to post the following there:

"Will you guys have a booth at the Mall Ninja and Wannabe Commandos Show (MaNiWanCos) 2005?"

I don't know why you guys are giving DO such a hard time. Have they ripped anyone off? Have they done anything other then fail to deliver knives that no one has ordered?

It takes balls to be an entrepenuer, and its not easy. There is probably one guy who wanted to start a knife company, took out out a loan for some nice advertising and made some mistakes along the way. Who knows what happened? Its obvious he's invested a ton of money into a bad advertising campaign. Its possible he's not ready to quit yet.

If I have false information, and he did rip people off, continue bashing this guy. But, if not, try to be a *little* empathetic. Picture yourself in his shoes, trying to start a production knife company, (ok, but imagine you have really bad taste for artwork too ;) ).

This is not so complicated.

The company started with our suppoort and expectations but failed to deliver, either product or real presence in the community. We tried to get answers but got no response. Or knives. For a long time now.

Seeing a forum opening up, we look to the forum for answers ("Is anyone home?") and it doesn't look like they're going to be forthcoming there either.

How much respect should we show when we haven't been shown any ourselves?

Meanwhile, we're just a buncha dirty peasants having fun bashing the village idiot.

Hmmm, I just registered over there as well (as JR42- I'm so creative), and can only see three forums. Oh, well. I'm interested to see how things go over there, and whether we all end up banned for for negativity. Or worse, deanimated (covertly, of course).

A certain someone who's no longer with us is already stirring things up over there.

Not only am I creative, I'm bright. I just realized that if I click on the "all forums" link, I can see a list of all the forums. I need more coffee. :D :D

And now he has multiple user accounts to further whine. Meh.

That or you've acquired several enemies, QS. :D

I thought like that for a second, but then I realized what a bad name they give all of us knife enthusiasts. dark ops FIGHTING knives? They advertise their knives for "deanimating" people, and airplane skin, and that's not what I do with my knives. All that has to happen is some right grabbing politican has to see these ads and a whole campaign to banknives will spark up.
"Look! these whackos carry knives to injur people! BAN KNIVES!!"

I can see it now. It almost as if the founder of Dark Ops has no respect for people like you and I, and the fellow BF members. It is a money making scam that has produced absolutely nothing.
