I ordered one of those stoves from China 3+ weeks ago and it hasnt shown up yet. Wondering how long they took to show up for others that ordered them?

Ordered mine Sept. 17 and nothing yet. Must take a couple of months.

Worldwood: If you want your logo in just a few things, might check and see if someone who has access to a laser engraver could do it for you. Probably a lot cheaper than buying a laser engraver. I don't know who all would have one, or hard it would be to find someone. I believe Spark has one though, and as they say, it never hurts to ask. No idea what he would charge though.

That being said, IN ON THREE!! WOOHOO!!!

Thanks man, thats a good idea, i just wanted it in a couple handles. No real reason other than id think it look neat

Todd knows someone with a laser. Has had some stuff lasered by him even I believe. From what I remember he was really reasonable like in his prices too.

I would check at jewelry and trophy stores locally before I went to the trouble of sending a few knives off somewhere for laser (or any other) engraving. The shipping would likely cost more than the engraving itself.

Yeah, Indeed I do. An old high school buddy of mine runs a engraving shop. His laser engraver is pretty imressive. It can engrave any design on just about every surface. Steel, wood, glass, you name it. Ive taken some stuff to him that people want personalized. Hell, he didnt even charge me last couple times I went. So, I bought him a 12 pack and set it in his car last time I was there.

Here's one quick example. This is a cleaver I made for a chef some time ago. She wanted my autograph enngraved into the steel. This is my actual signature.

Yea that sounds like a lot better idea, I have seen lots of places that will laser engrave knives, but thats on the steel, so i didnt know if it was possible in wood. But again im only wanting it done on a couple sets of handles so buying the engravers is out the question. But this sounds like a good idea if i can find a place that will try it reasonably. I mean if its 20-30 bucks it might be worth it just to see how it comes out, but 75+ I would not even bother.

What the heck is that, Tfields? Looks like a CZ75, but it's not. :)

For my fellow IT brethren, I give this word of warning: check your backups. Check them often. And even if you pay someone to ensure that they are setup right, quadruple check it yourself. We have narrowly, oh so narrowly avoided absolute carnage here because while the backup software was working, and the backup removable drives were working, the machine the backup drives were in went kaput. Months ago. I'm thankfully only having to rebuild a couple months worth of documents that are still out and about, but it could have been catastrophic if anything had happened differently. When this is all over, I'm going to have backups in no less than ten different places. For you folks out there that aren't computer savvy, make backups of the stuff that matters, and do it frequently, and check to make sure it is working. There is some nasty stuff going around out there these days. Nasty stuff.
