Checking the stock for the big ice storm bearing down on us. Plenty of food, water and a couple of cases of Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon Oenotheque Rose. Well, it was either that or Black & Tan. I didn't have my glasses on, but either way I'm ready.
I get to look forward to the same thing up here later today.... I need more beer. I'm out.

Finally started reading "American Sniper", I can't believe it took me this long to get around to it. A damned fine book.

 good book. I have his other book "American Gun" too, but haven't gotten around to starting it yet.

I also just finished "American Sniper" a couple months ago and have not yet started "American Gun." The first was an excellent book, so I'm looking forward to reading the second. The writing style is very conversational and makes for a great read. Kinda like sitting around drinking beer and telling war stories.

Fearless, By Eric Blehm, is another great book. If you haven't read it id recommend giving it a try!

My brother-in-law read this and liked it a lot, another one on my to-read list

Its an inspirational, touching, exciting, story! Really hard not to like this one. I wish i havent read it yet just so i could read it again for the first time.

Stood outside this morning for an hour in -8 weather. It was so cold that I almost couldn't breathe, the cold air was a shock to my lungs. Still the easiest job ever.

And that, my friends, is why I love East Tennessee. It gets a little muggy in the summer but we don't have those insane weather fluctuations, or the brutal winters.

When we drove through Tennessee in October it was already fall and completely beautiful, leaves changing everywhere.. The idea of real seasons seemed so nice... We have summer and not so summer down here...

85 yesterday, supposed to be in the 30's tonight...

.....aaannd that's the weather report for today!

I like having seasons that are different in more than just name and minor fluctuations in temperature. Although, we need a lot more closets and storage space in these kind of climes for all the clothing, and it costs a lot more to raise kids 'cause they grow out of their freakin' snow boots every year! Still, I love all the seasons here, even "mud season" in the spring - there used to be a mountain bike race called the "Mud Bath" around that time of year, it was total blast. People who make the best of it and just get outside enjoy it the most, it seems. I don't tolerate much bitching about the cold and the snow. That does seem to be a venerable pastime of New Englanders, tho.

Isn't this nice? to have a place to talk about knives, guns, weather, books, food, drinks, knives, electronics, child rearing, knives, moves, TV shows, sharpening, and knives. I just have to say, this forum is the best place on the internet. I will never have a facebook as long as Blade forums. com is alive :). whew, I'm glad I got that of my chest :D

I have always wanted to see New Hampshire.. I made it as far as Delaware one year in January.. First time experiencing WINTER as an actual force.. Funny what you say about cloths.. I was going through my closet the other day and I have exactly 2 long sleeve shirts.. It is shorts and short sleeves pretty much year round. I do own one light jacket..

Did you get any flak from the wife over your moose/deer Psyop? ;)

Mostly just an eye roll. She is used to me doing crazy stuff but my chest sure is itchy this morning. Oh she did say it looked like a vagina not a moose

I am always up for visitors. Probably my fave time of year to show visitors the outdoors here is Sep/Oct, hiking up in the Whites. Just stunning. Mt. Washington has winter almost year 'round, tho....I was on a hike up there once in early July and we turned around ¾ of the way up because it was 30° and blowing a bit of ice; visibility was very limited and were dressed for July, so...discretion being the better part of valor, I convinced my wife (girlfriend, ATT) and her friend to turn around. Every year, someone dies up in the Whites because they underestimate the weather. On my booklist: "Not Without Peril: 150 Years of Misadventure on the Presidential Range of New Hampshire". I've heard it's entertaining, if somewhat morbid.

My wife was willing to shave a moose on my back for a pic as long as she could finish the job after... :)

That is awesome, I may just take you up on that offer one day.. I have been to almost every state in the country, but I have wanted to visit the north eastern states for a long time and have just never made it.. and Idaho.. I have been to every state and Canadian providence around it, but never in the state.
