THE FIND OF THE YEAR !! What was your best blade purchase of 2014?

Benchmade Adamas 275. I'm no tactical high speed low drag operator. I'm just impressed with it because it's well made. It kicked off a buying spree of other big/overbuilt folders but I still like the Adamas best.

All my Reate flippers (Horizon, District 9 and Hills) have been very high-quality build and materials at unbelievable prices!

Spyderco Saver Salt and Spyderco Dragonfly Salt were $27.95 each at Blade HQ a week ago. They both sold out in less than an hour, but were back in stock a day or so later for $24.95 each, and sold out again. My pocket book was happy.

That is both funny and ironic at the same time. I've never really been attracted to a Sebenza for 2 reasons, price and it never really spoke to me. Then after dishing out the $$$ for my GT Helix, I realized that "hey, I'm now operating in CRK territory". So for the past week, I've been looking at Sebenza's much more closely now.

So I guess the answer to your question would be....no, it didn't get it off of my back, in fact I'm currently lusting after one where I never have before!

I'm that way with my lg. Sebenza CGI. Doesn't speak to me at all; cold beauty queen when I hold it. Wanted it for a long time then I got it and it's frigid. It's in a drawer with me hoping something will re-spark my interest in it some day.

Let us know how you feel when you get it compared to your Helix, Monkey, et. al. Sebs are great knives, can't knock 'em....

I bought a Benchmade 890 Torrent on the best site in the world, (Bladeforums)! It has been a great knife that was found at a great price!

Well I purchased my first knife and joined the forums in July 2014. In the past 5 months I've went through over 100 knives from Spyderco, ZT, Benchmade, CRK, etc. never holding on to more than about 15 at any given time. Although it's one of my cheaper folders the Spyderco Sage 1 is my favorite!
It's been a fun time but I have a long ways to go! I've purchased, traded & sold every knife I've had on the exchange and have yet too buy new.

You're going through 20 knives a month

Shhh...my wife might hear you! The exchange is a dangerous place! I have 7 coming next week and just shipped 3 out yesterday. It's an awesome place to try out knives without losing much more than shipping! Some awesome knives in this thread!

2014 blade forum traditional knife for me. Just an awesome knife & a great deal. This knife really opened my eyes to traditional blades.

My ADV and Graham Midtechs. They really opened my eyes to the benefits of saving up and buying quality pieces over production knives.

How am I the first to say ZT 0454?

I bought the 0454 with no intention of EVER carrying it. It was going on a shelf. I couldn't have been more wrong. I carry and use it most of the time. It ain't as pretty as it was new but what a great knife! The damned thing begs to be carried. Without a doubt my best purchase of 2014 and favorite user.

Big Chris Hunter in 10V, I've used the hell out of it and it just doesn't get dull. Fit and finish was perfect and it's very comfortable. At first I thought I overpaid but after using it extensively I would've paid more.

Nice! I love his stuff.

Great thread topic, EChoil! My best were twofold - ZT 0770 folder and LT Wright Coyote fixed - and I carried both of them yesterday:

My find of the year was unquestionably the Umnumzaan born on my birthday, which then became my OomNoomZeta after my friend Zeta applied his magic touch!
