THE FIND OF THE YEAR !! What was your best blade purchase of 2014?

Got some really good knives this year. Also got in on a couple of my top custom makers lists. So I got no regrets on anything. But my best purchase would have to be the unused Brous Reloader I picked up on the green forum for $180. By far the best deal I got this year!

So many good ones that its hard to say, but I guess my favorite in 2014 would be my Emerson CQC-7V.

The only fixed blade I bought i n 2014 was a Cold Steel GI Tanto. Cheap, but I have never seen a better, tougher knife for $23.00. Comes with a decent sheath too.

CRK Ti-lock. I traded a custom for it and a William and Henry Tracker (it would be second place). Both me and the other guy thought we got the better end of the deal, that's the best kind of trade :)

Spyderco Native-5. Fantastic EDC.

Well first I was going to say Devilstator hands down because how could I not:

Then I realized that I also got this in 2014 (though it was at the very beginning) and now I'm torn and refuse to pick:

Balisong - Alpha Beast 2.0
Folder - Large raindrop cgg sebenza
Fixed - Kyle Hanson custom edc. W2 & Koa

:D

Just wouldn't have been right to list JUST 1

Last year it was a Sebenza 21 with Micarta scales. This year (2014) I've purchased a handful of knives, but by far the one I've enjoyed the most this year has been my SOG Tomcat 3.0. IMO, one of the finest production folders ever.

Guardian Tactical Helix, black, G10 which I just gave to my oldest son. Every time he saw it he raved what a great knife it is, and how much he liked it. He is a college student and doesn't have the $$ for knives, so now he has a heirloom early.

My first thought was the ZT0454, which I was lucky enough to buy direct fro KAI. It's easily one of my favorites.

However, I scored a mint ZT0777M390 for $375 a couple weeks ago and I've been carrying that since. It's a toss up as far as which I like better, the 0454 or the 0777M390 but since I got such a killer deal on the 0777M390 I'm going to say that's my find of the year.

Great thread by the way.

Dude you suck(:D) but are so awesome at the same time.
I tried to get a Devilstator so bad but didn't make the cut. Not one of the cool kids.
That Terz is rockin too.
Great combo thanks for sharin.
Cheers and Happy Holidays

Can't decide between the two damascus DDRs...

I'm still happy that I found the apparently only Condor Tactana in the country (at that time) at Blade show -- sweet little sword for the price, unfortunately it was catch and release because I picked it up for a friend.

My two Sebenzas are my favorite Folders of the year. I picked up an Esee 5 earlier this year. Then I discovered all the custom Knifemakers on here. My Bradshaw Freedom fighter has to be my #1 fixed blade.

Slysz Bowie
Reate hills
Delica 4 zdp
PM2 s35
Curtiss F3 wharnie

The above are my top 5.

I also think CRK, Hinderer, and Chaves make some nice stuff, but I think the above were better overall choices when price is considered. With the omission on the F3. For the money all I needed was a Delica

Syderco was definitely my fave manufacturer of the year.. I love me some spydie holes:cool:
