The Flea Market Mung Absolution Thread

I keep getting trolled by knives I REALLY want at solid prices because of orange pinstripes... :dispirited: This seems have been a theme all month and I'm ready for a nice blue or even a white month! :encouragement:

I thought that I was the only one who doesn't care for orange pinstripes (with rare exceptions.). Toxic green, white, or plain solid black are the ones I like. I am kind of indifferent to blue pinstripes unless they are paired with black. I have skipped buying many knives on Fridays or from the Flea Market because they have orange pinstripes.

To each their own when it comes to pinstripes.

I'm not much for orange either. However, I've owned custom blades with orange liners from other craftsman and I must say that Andy's orange is significantly brighter. At least the recluse that I owned was much brighter than all the other stuff. I'm sure with exposer to the elements, use and abuse the orange tones down a bit.

Boy did that recluse POP...

Send all of your orange-contaminated Fiddlebacks to me for proper disposal. :D

Orange pinstripes?!? Yuck! :barf:

You guys are funny. :D

It is interesting to see how different our opinions are. Personally, I despise lime/toxic green liners and will never have a knife with them. I've seen many Fiddlebacks I've been tempted by only to immediately dismiss them because of the lime green stripe.

I do like orange though. My favorite combo was the Bushfinger I had, OD green over nat can with an orange stripe.

White is ok. I actually have a few though it's not my favorite.

I would REALLY like to have a wood handled combo with a blue stripe. Maybe one day. Maybe when my sweeties cancer is behind us. :)

We are all different for sure. Yellow and blue are a no go for me every time.
Orange or lime with the right natural color I love. Red or white against black is always a classic favorite as well.
Keep fighting that good fight against cancer with your sweetie schmittie!

I want to know which one of you *ahem* collectors, is hoarding my grail Camp Bushrangermasterfinger Sr.!! You know, the one that was only shown once in that one post that was then taken down...even Bud didn't see it...but we got a glimpse and that was enough. I have to have it, regardless of who has it, and it's Ken's fault if I don't get it. If you need, I have a Karda Peckerraptor with scales of unbelievable straight-grain burl for trade but I'd really like to sell so I can buy.

(sorry for drifting from the straight Mung)

Did you guys see the Bushfingers VANCE just posted in the Flea Market? WOW!

Ok, so..... there were some knives just listed that are Black Burlap. What's the difference between Black Burlap and Oreo Burlap???? and..... What's the difference in Emerald Burlap and Evergreen Burlap? Any chance these are the same things, we just started calling them different names over time???

Thanks, Will

It is possible evergreen and emerald have been used as the same

Sometimes we forget what it was called too
Lol

White in the resin??? So, it's kind of milky? How about the greens???

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Emerald and Evergreen are different.

Emerald is lighter green. Evergreen has black woven in.

WOW! LOL.... cool, so black burlap is all black fibers?

Thanks for the pic on the greens! I had NO idea there was a difference like that!
