Guy,

Were the other models able to get kydex or are they still with Kiah?

I sent the first batch of knives to Kiah to have the sheaths made. He said they were finished and they would ship the day after MLK. I have been unable to contact him since Jan 13th. I'm not sure what's up.

I can still totally hook anyone up with a knife. Just about all of them will be wrapped up by next week. All of the GSO-4's are finished and I'll have photos of those that have not been claimed by Saturday. I'll even discount them a few extra dollars to make up for not having a sheath. That will also give you the freedom to either make your own or to pick the shop of your choice to have something made to your liking.

I can see moving into production I'll probably need to approach a bigger shop for sheath making.

Ouch...I hope there is a reasonable explanation for the lack of communication.

EDIT: Kiah resurfaced. Everything will be back on track shortly. Glad to have you back, Kiah ;)

Knives and sheaths should be in Guys' hands Monday. Apologies to anyone held up and it's entirely on me.

Very poor snapshot before they left, but a preview of the sheaths. Guy will be able to take better pics when they're in hand.

Here is the big batch leaving to have sheaths made today. Some of you might recognize your knife.

UPDATE: This knife sold a good few days ago. Sorry for not updating this sooner. ;)
Want a GSO-5 RIGHT NOW?! Here's your chance to own MY GSO-5. It was my intention for this to be my personal GSO-5 and as such it is set up for my particular tastes. It is the only one of my prototypes to not have "prototype" etched into the blade and it's configuration is also one of a kind. This knife features matte finished camo Canvas micarta slabs, corby bolts and a bow drill divot. It comes complete with the coyote brown kydex sheath pictured. It can ship out today, with no delay.

I wanted anyone interested to have an equal chance at purchasing this baby, so I'm listing it here. The price is $180, CONUS shipping included. The earliest time stamped email to guy@survive-gear.com takes it. Enter "CAMO GSO" as the email title.
Please do NOT send payment for this knife until I have confirmed who contacted me first. You are buying the exact knife and sheath in these photos.

Just a quick update to anyone reading this thread. The last of the prototype knives have made their way to Kiah for sheaths. They should be finished up and shipping back to me this coming Monday. Anyone who preordered a knife, who got a confirmation that their knife was available, will be getting their knife shipped out mid or late next week. Productions knives are now moving. All production knives will feature bolted handles, so they can be removed for inspection and maintenance. This hardware will be an off the shelf variety so they can be replaced easily by the user.

I just dropped you an email. Keeping multiple email addresses, online fictitious names and real names straight is getting to be crazy confusing. We'll get it straightened out.
I preordered a prototype GSO-5 but haven't heard anything.

Sure did. I checked them out months ago when they were still just a design. Took them out today and put them to use. They perform flawlessly. They are simply amazing....great work. I own Koster, Bark River, Busse, Swamp Rat, ESEE, etc. and these are one of the best in my book. Bravo!!!

That's just awesome! Did you pick them up from Sean down at Edgeworks, in Frederick? He is my first retail outlet. Hopefully I'll find many more retailers in the future for production.

Wow Man, that's a tall compliment, most especially considering these are just my prototypes. Thanks, it means a lot to me.
I hope they give you a lifetime of good performance.
