The Hinderer Anticipation Thread - What Are YOU Waiting for?

Got a 3rd Gen. 3.5" Slicer inbound. Bought it on USN, and should be here in a few days; it'll be my second XM-18. :D

Jensen, there's a website right now that currently has a silver skull filler tab in stock.
 
My short wait for the Armorer's Tool and a Battleship Gray scale for my new XM-18 ended today. I supposed most would like the blue/black scale better, but I really go for the gray. I'm in the middle of changing the scales now, and the tool sure makes it easy and convenient.

Is it just me or do you see brown and a dark blue or black mixture in the scale? Either way I don't think I've seen a battleship gray scale so...dark. ;)

Ah gotcha. That baggie changed the look dramatically! Very nice scale.

N2K, I couldn't agree more. I often carry my 3.5 slicer with a BSG scale and standard hardware with Blue Ti standoffs. It looks very "natural" and compliments the SW finish nicely.

I personally prefer the BSG color on the 3.5's over the BSG XM-24 scale color also. That scale is actually lighter. Well, at least that's the case with both of mine.

At first I thought it was only mine, but I noticed it on a lot of other xm's out there. I figured the BSG thinner g10 stock on the 3.5's is just a different color than the thicker XM-24 BSG stock they get. Could be wrong! I love them both!
 
Quoddy, that BSG scale looks great! I have to echo the others in that I think the standard hardware suits it very nicely. Sometimes simple is good ;)

So I, once again, am anticipating a new (to me) XM - an unexpected trade opportunity presented itself and I am now waiting on a 3.5" FDE DLC Spanto.

This will be my first FDE DLC XM, looking forward to it! And, to add to the coolness of it, the previous owner sweetened the deal by blinging it out w/ some ano'd hardware and a textured CF scale!
 
Shane that is probably the best FDE DLC setup I've seen honestly. The textured CF with the bronze hardware equals a very good combo!! Me likey :D

To be fair, I traded for this one ;) (Which is about all I can do right now, I somehow managed to run out of play money - else I'd be buying BT's WF wharnie...:eek:)

I wish I could tell how badly I want BT's Wharnie. The timing is terrible right now but it in a few weeks I'll be looking for a list of items. Then I'll be posting a bunch of new stuff... ;)
 
Nice trade you made there! I wouldn't mind trying out a FDE DLC XM sometime. I think when it comes down to it I would prefer a black one, but I do like that desert-color to it. It definitely adds to the "hard-working"aspect that Hinderer's already possess! Great knife buddy!
 
My problem is I can't bear to part with any of the XMs I already have, and I'm trying to hang onto my one remaining kidney... (I keed, I keed :p)

Sheesh, I have more XM scales than I know what to do with yet I can't part with any of those because, you know, who knows when I might want to color coordinate....?!

The black looks really sharp, but I think at heart I'm more of a fan of the FDE. It might have something to do with my upbringing surrounded by things painted flat OD green, tan, brown, etc ;)

Thanks Jensen! Yeah, I'm pretty stoked to get this one - particularly since it kind of came out of the blue..

first the black wharncliffe then these cool fde ones - now i NEED them all! :D

i think i will NEVER buy any other folding knife other than a hinderer - i cant get my hands off my first one - it seems i constantly have to flip it open and find excuses to cut something :thumbup: it IS that good!
 
So, if I'm lucky, the FDE DLC Spanto will arrive on Monday. If I'm really lucky so will a certain custom WF wharnie...

What's going to kill me is I'm on 12's Monday and Tuesday...
