Which style for the satin HOGB8?

Mine was scheduled for delivery this past Friday, but no one would be home to sign. So I went online, created a UPS account, and redirected the delivery to the closest UPS store, then picked it up Saturday. (No signature required :eek:)

But I was slacking, and haven't taken any pics yet. It has a somewhat beefy convex edge that reminds me of the Satin Battle Rat, so will pull that one out for comparison.
 
Love this "little guy" basic-3 in modified-infi with satin finish and convex edge- A small knife with that large knife feeling due to the size of the handle.:D

Feels nice and Basic 7ish to me, but I haven't broken out the other Res-C beauties yet to compare directly. We have family visiting from out of state this week, so my picture time will be limited. I'll see what I can do in the evenings.

Family members are about 2 hours away, so I ran out to the safe and grabbed some Res-C blades real quick for a comparison...

S5LE,RMD,E6,CT,B8,SBR,BR,B10(x2)


B8,CT


The B8 definitely feels lighter than the CT and SBR, more like the E6 but just a smidge heavier in the blade. I don't have a B7 or B9 anymore, but if memory serves correctly, the B8 is in the same area as the B7 in feel.

I would have thought that the B8 would feel a bit heavier than that. Is the full convex grind pretty minimal then?

General impression: nimble or chopper?

So we might as well machine-gun you with questions while you have it out...:D

Have you put a ruler on the blade to see what actual length is?
 
More belly on the B8 than the others. Thoughts on that (e.g., longer usable portion with large choil, improved chopping)?
