No rcb...neither of mine have that...BUT...

I do notice when the light hits that area, I detect a very slight grind bevel on both mine at that exact junction...

It looks as if they very gently softened that 90 down to transition into the Res-C...I'd bet the shop would have had to done it before fitting with the handles...

Maybe they forgot or overlooked knocking yours down...that may cause a blister or hotspot on your thumb or thumb webbing if you choke up...

Interesting, and I would have never noticed it if I hadn't read your post...

Now you got me wondering if everyone elses' is like yours ( or mine )...

I hope other HOGS chime in

I tried to get photos but it's too subtle...

I found it by tilting the spine back & forth under my bright shop light like you check an edge for a burr or flat spot...

When I do that, the light reflects at definite different angles from the spine to about 2 mm away from the spine/res-c junction...

Sorry I couldn't get my pics to show it...IT IS VERY SUBTLE BUT IT IS THERE ON BOTH MINE...

No worries here, I'm just amazed at the level of refinement put into this offering...that is something I would have never noticed

There is a tiny gap on my tan handled B8 while the black handled one looks perfect. Tan Res-C handle seems is a tad (a fraction of a mm) shorter than the black one. Not a big deal.

New here so this may be wrong thread..anyone have an idea how many steel heart IIs were made??

Welcome to BladeForums, and the Busse forum!

Except in rare cases, the Busse Combat shop never divulge how many of any blade have been made.

Just got my shipping notification, Friday is the day the big brown truck of joy will stop by my house :) .

Can't get over how compact that blade looks for an 8 incher--very "minimalist" set-up, I like it a lot.

Have never received a Busse with heavy lube--I wonder if that's something new they're trying?

Thanks for the pics, ni1s, skwurll and PTPO.
I got my NMSFNO, INFI RMD and my NMFBM coated, extra protection is never bad. They seem to have changed the cardboard sheaths to corrugated ones, my INFI RMD and NMFBM came with them.

This thing looks sort of SoD size (although it appears to be a little larger).

Anyone who has held both...how do they compare? The SOD LE is probably one of my favorite Scrapyard knives out there. I had one a long time ago and sold it and have regretted it since and they seem to pop up infrequently these days.

The SOD is a tad shorter than the Basic-8, but with a thicker blade- will post some comparison shots when i get my B-8.
