AZ is a great place to visit, depending on where & when. The Mogollon Rim east of Payson was my favorite area.

That no choil Hog B8 308 would match perfectly with the B13. We should work together to make them both happen! ;)

A thirty caliber B8--the "Thirty B8". I like it, especially with no choil.

The B13 idea is a classic in the making as well.

Was hiking the North Cascades in Washington State near the Canadian border this morning and ran into some overgrown segments of trail that I would ordinarily want a longer blade to clean up—a B11 or machete. All I had with me was the B8, and it turned out to be all I needed. Light swings with just a wrist snap took care of the little stuff, and two strokes like that would clip off 1”+ dia saplings with minimal effort. The balance is just superb, and the Res-C grip feels like an extension of my hand. I can tell chores like limbing out poles to make shelter would be child’s play with this knife. Plus, it’s so light on my belt that I honestly don’t think I notice it any more than I would a Basic 7 or even a B5. I love this thing. Some pics...

Edited to say: Even though my knife has been modified by Garth to my specs, I wouldn't expect much variation in performance for these kinds of tasks from a standard Basic 8.

Excellent pics and eval Will! Love the clipped spine on that one!!! If you haven't given it a name yet, may I suggest... Will York's "War Feather".;)

Good mock-up Tim! That would be a heck of a set (Maybe add a DDHG Boss Street to get the small knife slot covered and you'd be ready to tackle anything).
