Which style for the satin HOGB8?

I got to say, seeing some pics, and Spirch' splitting video, are easing the suffering! Just knowing the end is near gives some satisfaction. On the other hand, the wait for the next "dream come true" starts within hours of that soul soothing fat slab euphoria :D
 
Thought Spirch's measurement of edge thickness in his batonning thread was worth repeating here:

about 0.85mm or 0.0335 inch, +/- 5%

As Busse edges, even on smaller knives, often run into the .040-.050" range, that this monster is ground that fine at the edge is IMO GREAT NEWS!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool::cool:
 
I can’t freaking wait for this knife!!! Sucks seeing all these awesome pics and I’m over here like :oops: oh well I’ve waited this long what’s two more weeks???

(Measured edge thickness, right?—not the width of the bevel from edge to top of bevel? When you said “to top of sharpened line”, wasn’t 100% sure on that.)
 
HOGB8 thinnest part is 0.043 in

interesting, i keep trying measure the edge and i keep getting 0.038 to 0.032 close to the handle, about an inch away from the start of the edge

at the tip i get 0.063

I guess that’s the top of the bevel.

Very edge is 0.0225 near choil on HOGB8 and DS8
 
Busse edges are typically ground finer in the straight edge, main part of the blade ahead of the choil and ground thicker near the tip. Spirch is measuring thickness where I do—at the top of the edge bevel, measuring the thickness of the edge in cross section.
 
It’s like crickets in here. Still waiting for my satin HOGB8. Was dinged on May 11, which would have been my dad’s birthday. Hopefully it will be here before my b’day in Oct!
