THE Hollow Handle Knife Thread

I'm not sure if I had already posted this, if so, sorry, but it is too beautiful.....
Shane Sibert and Allen Elishewitz hollow handle survival knife.. Overall lenght 12 5/8", blade lenght 7 5/8", in CPM S30V..

It does look neat... And functional dipped sawback teeth for a change! (Not on top of a Full Flat Grind, but still not bad...)

Any notion what is the hole in the blade near the guard?

Thanks Mark

Not something, that Im in the market for, as Im covered but like me a good beard hawk and/or axe.

Now, THATS a proper field test. Very interesting - thx for taking the time to put it together. Great pics.

Those bear tracks though!! Some how even more ominous that you guys didnt spot it.

I wonder, if raft seat makes for bad bear breath.....

PS, the Ulu/ Hawk is a hollow handle ulu that works just like my 1911 Combat Survivor Bowie with the survival gear in the handle, or you can carve a wooden handle that makes it an axe.

Happy New Year all! I got a hollow handle kit from USA Knifemaker to try making a quick and cheap hollow handle knife. I mocked it up to an Ontario SP6, ASEK and a Cold Steel R1 incomplete blank. I'd rather use the R1 blank for a traditional build though I posted it just to see. If I use the SP6 I would make a stainless guard of some sort. I think I would be able to use the factory guard on the ASEK but nobody knows whats under that rubber handle. Any thoughts?

Some nice vintage knives from the 80s, in beautiful condition, that were recently listed on a dealer's website. Good stuff...

I just found a knife that fell behind my washing machine. (Does it still count as just found a new knife??) I forgot I had it for more then a few years.
Any way it says "Randall made Orlando Florida", on the other side it says "Thomas F. Chavez". Its a hollow handle with serrated back. Would anyone now anything about those knives?

ok I think I figured it out. Had no idea what I had and it sure never was a safe queen. Been used and abused and put away wet.

I have a Buckmaster somewhere. have not seen it in a while. I bought it from a friend on the cheap. Friend had matches in the handle. he was chopping something and the matches lit in the handle, and burned the crud out of his hand. I never got the handle to open again after it burned. Pretty damn good knife.

Glad you're liking it, DJ. Always good to see pics being used.

And thank you bowie and Jackal, much appreciated!
